    3. Hi, I have a Sophie Dufresne who married Amable Gauthier de Varennes in L'Ancienne-Lorette on nov. 12th.1822. In the L'Ancienne-Lorette's register the priest write her name as Sophie dite Dufresne in the margin. As witnesses there are Jacques and Michel Dufresne, "amis" friends of Sophie. At first view it would seems Sophie is an illegetimate girl. Is there anyone having more info on her parentage? Thank you. Florent de Napierville

    3. I didn't locate the marriage but only the burial of Sophie Dufresne in 1868 - at age 66 - spouse of Amable Gauthier de Varennes at Ancienne Laurette. Perhaps her father was a "dit" Dufresne - have you found her birth record?
