Most of the work on this family was done by Marguerite MORISSON, a well known French genealogist, well known and might I add, very reliable. An earlier and equally reliable source is Violette ALLAIRE who published her research in several articles and then a book, in 1662. This book was re-edited in English in 1979, under the title "The Allaire-Dallaire Families of America", and can be found in several libraries. You can also view snippets of it on Google Books. Sébastien and Perrine FLEURISSON were married on the 24th of January 1629, in Saint-Philibert-du-Pont-Charrault parish, in the town of Chantonnay, in the present departement of Vendée, France. You can verify this fact yourself by viewing the actual parish register which has been on-line for some time now. Look at Saint-Philibert-du-Pont-Charrault, registres paroissiaux, mariages 1621-jan. 1663, view 6. It reads: Idem de Bastien fils de feu Guillaume Allaire avecq Perrine Fille de Rene Florisson de la Caillère En datte du vintquatriesme janvier 1629 This mariage is also recorded on the same date in the registers of Saint-Hilaire parish, in the town of Caillère, also in Vendée, which was the bride's parish. You will find further details here : http://www.fichierorigine.com/detail.php?numero=240028 As to where these researchers have discovered their information, I can assure you it was not from copy pasting whatever they chanced upon on the internet. Marguerite Morisson spends countless hours deciphering archival documents in France, and so did Violette Allaire. Others merely copy, rarely taking the time to thank or even acknowledge these two invaluable researchers. 3. Rootsweb: Very strange earlier today I tried them and got Ancestry.com forums. I have a link that I use and I get redirected to Ancestry.com. I wonder if Ancestry has completely taken down Rootsweb or just redirecting to Ancestry.
