Marie Anne Dufour married to Elzear Colin 4 Aug 1884 - she is the only child I have record of Charles Dufour born 1811-died 1865 and Marie Arsene Bois-Boies 1824-1846 although he had 11 children with a second wife. I would like to find out more info for Marie Anne as to when she was born/died and if she had any children, would be lucky and appreciate if anyone has information on this couple. TIA Joyce C

The part of the Acadian Guédry family exiled to Boston. The story is he ate beans while there and liked them so much he was called the bean. After 1763 that part of the family went to Quebec
I had not heard that name before. I just figured they couldn't distinguish between an "n" and a "u." And had never seen the word beautiful spelled out, though then they'd have pronounced it La-boo. I can't win, but I won't change it! A little more info -----Original Message----- From: ken theriault <madawaska_library@yahoo.com> Hello Paul, What I have are the transcriptions of the registers by Jean Guy Poitras. The records only start with the year 1792, so the Madeleine who died in 1791 is not listed. The story I have heard is that the earlier records are missing or were destroyed. I will ask Guy Dubay, he may know off the top of his head. Ken Theriault Library Director Madawaska Public Library 393 Main St. Madawaska, ME 04756 admin@madawaskalibrary.org

The final resting places of the departed in Butler County will be easier to find this Memorial Day, thanks to the efforts of volunteers who recently updated a website on the county's cemeteries. The work of the volunteers, an improved database containing more than 19,000 gravestone photos along with names and data on each person beneath each stone, is also drawing national attention to Butler County. Genealogists and historians from across the U.S. have high praise for the volunteers who recorded images of the county's old tombstones, many of which are rapidly deteriorating. The project is a joint effort of volunteers with the Butler County Genealogical Society, the Boston Studio Project and the Hruska Memorial Public Library. It began in summer 2008, after the Nebraska State Genealogical Society asked all counties to begin an effort to photograph every gravestone in the state. To date, the Butler County group has outdistanced many other communities by making both cemetery images and information available on the Internet. Butler County has 45 cemeteries on public and private land, some with only one or two graves. The largest, David City Cemetery, has more than 3,000 graves. Updating the county's cemetery database meant thousands of entries that include the location of a grave, the birth and death dates of the deceased, and other data about that person. There is even information on graves that have no tombstones. Here is the link for "the rest of the story": http://journalstar.com/news/state-and-regional/nebraska/tombstone-project-pays-off-for-genealogists/article_e7bffc4e-9025-5993-8049-d5c3bf093a6c.html
Although Drouin / Ancestry searches often give alternate spellings absolutely nothing came up for Minville/Sinclair no matter where and how long I looked. When I couldn't find a marriage for "Louise Minville" & "Josephe Sinclair" - as you had written, I looked for birth of Catherine in order to see the names as they had been originally recorded. Catherine's mother was recorded as st-Clair at her birth and Saint-Clair at her marriage, not Sinclair, which is the reason for sending you the records. Catherine married Jean Baptiste "Roi" -which was the reason for sending the marriage record which also included the dit names.
