    3. Hello, I used to use Rootsweb a lot and post messages on their message boards. Now I can't figure out how to do that. I get transferred to all sorts of options, none of which seem to be what I want.  Most frustrating. Can anyone give me any guidance? Thank you Peggy

    3. Hi Fran - Thanks both for the link and the list of children. I have now deleted the extra names and checked all the dates. There were a few differences in the dates between born and baptised and deaths and burials which I have corrected also. Am now checking over Doreen's message where the childrens names agree with yours too. thanks very much Joyce On Sun, Jul 6, 2014 at 7:55 PM, Fran LaChance <singer.35@hotmail.com> wrote: > from franccogene Genealogy of French in North America (free) > http://www.francogene.com/genealogie-quebec-genealogy/000/000385.php > > > [385] *GENDRON dit FONTAINE, Nicolas* (Pierre GENDRON & Marie RENAUD > [2983] > <http://www.francogene.com/genealogie-quebec-genealogy/002/002983.php>), > né/born Le Château-d'Oléron (Charente-Maritime : 17093) > > * mariés/married 1656-02-14 Québec > > *HUBERT, Marie Marthe* (Toussaint & Catherine CHAMPAGNE [3802] > <http://www.francogene.com/genealogie-quebec-genealogy/003/003802.php>), > née/born vers 1634 (sép. 1688)/about 1634 (burial 1688) Chennegy > (Saint-Pierre) (Aube : 10096), inhumée/buried 1688-02-26 Sainte-Famille, > Î.O. > > 1) *Jean François*, né/born 1657-12-09, baptisé/baptized 1657-12-12 > Québec > > 2) *Jean Baptiste*, né/born 1660-11-19, baptisé/baptized 1660-11-21 > Québec, inhumé/buried 1660-12-25 Québec > > 3) *Jacques* GENDRON, né/born 1662-11-14, baptisé/baptized > 1662-11-16 Château-Richer, inhumé/buried 1728-01-26 Saint-Jean, Î.O., > marié/married Sainte-Famille, Î.O. 1686-11-28 Marie Anne CHARLAND > <http://www.francogene.com/genealogie-quebec-genealogy/005/005360.php>, > marié/married L'Ange-Gardien 1712-08-01 Marie Madeleine TRUDEL > <http://www.francogene.com/genealogie-quebec-genealogy/012/012861.php> > > 4) *Nicolas*, né/born 1664-12-20, baptisé/baptized 1664-12-23 > Château-Richer > > 5) *Pierre* GENDRON, né/born 1667-01-16, baptisé/baptized > 1667-01-16 Sainte-Famille, Î.O., décédé/dead 1747-02-25, inhumé/buried > 1747-02-27 Sainte-Famille, Î.O., marié/married Sainte-Famille, Î.O. > 1694-11-08 Marie THIBIERGE > <http://www.francogene.com/genealogie-quebec-genealogy/006/006700.php> > > 6) *Marie Marthe* GENDRON, née/born 1669-04-19, baptisée/baptized > 1669-04-20 Sainte-Famille, Î.O., marié/married Sainte-Famille, Î.O. > 1685-10-18 Pierre SYLVESTRE > <http://www.francogene.com/genealogie-quebec-genealogy/005/005974.php> > ------------------------------ > On 06/07/2014 7:43 PM, Joyce Crete wrote: > > I have the following information but have childrens names mixed up and would > like if anyone else has this family and could help straighten them out. > > Nicholas Gendron dit Lafontaine b 16 Jan 1634 died about 1671 > married Marie Marthe Hubert 14 Feb 1656 and had 6 or 8 children. > his parents Pierre and Marie Regnaud 1615- year of death unknown > her parents Toussaint Hubert 1615 - year of death unknown and Catherine > Champaigne 1618 > First one or two children Marthe and/or Jean Francois born 1657 > last one or two children Pierre and/or Jean Pierre born 16 Jan 1667 > > I don't know if they had two sets of twins or if names were mixed in > recording. > I expect the latter as someone else is showing same list without Jean > Pierre and with Jean Francois but neither of us has a source. > > Joyce Crete > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~For the list web page, goto:http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~unclefred/main.htm > And we are on facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/QRlist/ > List Archives are at: http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/index/QUEBEC-RESEARCH > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to QUEBEC-RESEARCH-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message > > > > > > > ------------------------------ > <http://www.avast.com/> > > This email is free from viruses and malware because avast! 3. This is the only Regis Lemay born in that time frame that I could fine. There's a number of none RC churches in Stukely area Shefford county. They may have married in another faith. Even is it said (living in Stukely Nord in the parish of Notre-Dame-de- Bonsecours ) doesn't mean they mean they were member of that church. It's a way to identify the area they were living in. Landowner In 1851 there was a Régis Lemay, Cordonnier (shoemaker or leather worker) époux de Suzanne St- Michel, living in Stukely Nord in the parish of Notre-Dame-de- Bonsecours in the Eastern Townships of Québec. I found this by googling his name and coming up with http://www.bonsecou rs.ca/Histoire_ Plus.html It's a fairly long detailed history (in French) of the region and there is only one mention of Regis Lemay and his wife in a list of cordonnniers who practiced there during the 19th century. The mention occurs pretty far down in the history. I got it by using my Find on This Page button in my browser to locate the name Lemay. It took several clicks to find the name Regis Lemay. I don't know whether this is the couple you're looking for, but it might be a lead. Suzanne St-Michel might very well be anglicized to Susan or Suzanna Mitchell. They may have been married at Bonsecours, but I had no access to the parish registers. Anyway, I thought it might be worth passing on to you. Could be another rock for you to look under. Al Trudeau ACGS #3720 The description you have stated is not far from Richford or Richmond, VT so it could be the area that Regis LeMay came from especially since the name LeMai is spelled with an i in Quebec. Regis and Susan very well could have been in Franklin or Chittenden county, VT by 1852. Harriet The only Stukely on my map of Quebec is in Shefford Co, and it it Stukely South. It is south East of Granby Quebec. There is no date on this map but I think it is fairly accurate. The website automatedgenealogy.com is a census for Canada, I don't find them in the 1852 census but in the 1901 there are alot of Lemay listings in Shefford Co, Stukely North. Unfortunately there are only a few years of census. Hope it helps. Harriet To: ACGSTalk@yahoogroups.com Sent: Saturday, December 8, 2007 9:28:30 PM Subject: Re: [TalkACGS] Re: Regis LeMay, VT. Rosemary       Harriet Cady <kd1843@verizon.net> wrote:   an anyone tell me where Stukely Nord in the parish of Notre-Dame-de- Bonsecours in the Eastern Townships of Québec is near? 3. Not sure if this will help.... but perhaps worth a follow-up. The 2nd marriage of Israel Hamel is in Drouin for 6 Feb 1849 at St-Cesaire; the Index page for this marriage gives the names of the parties as Name: Jean Israël Hamel Spouse: Rose Brodin Event: Mariage (Marriage) Marriage Year: 1849 Marriage Location: St-Césaire, Québec (Quebec) The name of the groom was updated 08/02/2010 by "mtdger" a subscriber to Ancestry with a note that the change was as the name was recorded at baptism. The marriage copy in Ancestry is very poor but Family Search is a wee bit better at: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1971-28022-21644-88?cc=1321742&wc=MHB1-66X:19326001,19326002,19326003 Cheers!
