    3. Peggy you are probably looking for an Episcopal Church wedding .....as Gertrude was baptized in the Episcopal Church .....but death gives birth as 23 Sep 1910 ( of Gertrude Roy Grenier ) .......according to baptismal record looks like 21 Sep 1910 .....pretty close to be the same one. 1. [Q-R] DESROSIERS - A Royal Lineage
    2. Debbie Duay via
    3. If you have the surname DESROSIERS in your lineage (dit names are Dargis/Dargy/Dargie, Dutremble, Desilets, and LeFreniere), you are probably a direct descendant of Antoine Desrosiers and Anne LeNeuf ( http://www.apointinhistory.net/desrosiers.php ).  This is a DOCUMENTED royal lineage to Charlemagne ( http://www.francogene.com/gfna/gfna/998/qrd30.htm ).  Anne LeNeuf's grandmother was Jeanne Le Marchand.  Her lineage to Charlemagne has been documented, and she is an accepted gateway ancestor for the lineage society Order of the Crown of Charlemagne ( http://www.charlemagne.org/ ).  The article documenting the lineage from Jeanne Le Marchand to Charlemagne was originally published in French in the "Mémoires de la Société généalogique canadienne-française."  It was later translated and published in English in a 3-part series in "Michigan's Habitant Heritage" : Part I, 23:4 (October 2002): 149-159; Part II, 24:1 (January 2003): 1-9; and Part III, 24:2 (April 2003): 49-55. Robert Allen Muse, 22, is out of jail on bond awaiting trial after he was indicted in April 2013 on three counts of first-degree criminal mischief, which is a felony. He is accused of going under cover of darkness to Hatchett Cemetery on Goode Road in Tanner and breaking or overturning more than 70 headstones in November 2012. After members of Ezekiel Missionary Baptist Church repaired many of the headstones in the 83-year-old cemetery, the vandal returned six days later and damaged more headstones. After the second incident, Limestone County Sheriff Mike Blakely installed surveillance cameras at the cemetery and, when a suspect was caught on camera Nov. 23, sent the footage to the media to ask the public to identify the man. Muse was quickly arrested for the three incidents. Blakely has said he does not know a motive for the vandalism. Church members received donations to help replace and repair headstones. Conditions of Muse's release on bond include: staying out of Limestone County unless he has a court appearance or a meeting with his attorney Garry Clem, adhering to an 8 p.m. nightly curfew and live at his parents' home in Falkville until the trial and that Muse's father "take control of his motorcycle," said Limestone County District Attorney Brian Jones.

    1. [Q-R] Dozens of headstones found dumped next to Manchester Ship Canal

    3. More than two dozen headstones have been found dumped next to the Manchester Ship Canal under the M60 _Barton Bridge_ (http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/all-about/barton%20bridge) . An investigation has now been launched to find out which graveyards they may have come from. They were discovered by stunned resident Paul Gibson, who was walking his dog at the weekend. The headstones were down an embankment and their discovery has prompted Peel Holdings, who own the canal to issue a statement saying it will investigate. The property giant is currently building a road to link Liverpool Road at _Eccles_ (http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/all-about/Eccles) with the _Trafford_ (http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/all-about/Trafford) side of the canal. Salford council has now said it will move the headstones - one which dates from as recent as 1990 - to Peel Green Cemetery. Under the 1977 Local Authority Cemetery Order permission must be given from relatives of the person who bought the plot before a headstone can be moved. It is possible the headstones are from a deconsecrated church yard. One theory is that they are from the old Wesleyan Chapel on Barton Road, which was demolished in 2001 to make way from a block of flats. Worsley and Eccles MP, Barbara Keeley, said: “These headstones should be treated with more respect than this, wherever they are from.” She said that local police had been asked to investigate. In a statement Peel said: “The gravestones, along with other stonework, were uncovered during excavations being carried out by a contractor working on the new road infrastructure next to the AJ Bell Stadium. "We are very concerned at the manner in which the stones have been deposited, for which the contractor has taken full responsibility. “The land where the gravestones were unearthed has never been in Peel’s ownership and it is not clear when or why they were put there. “The Council has agreed we can take the gravestones to Peel Green Cemetery where they will be carefully stored while we jointly investigate where the stones originated.” The headstones span almost a century. The name of Elizabeth Armstrong who died on February 17th 1947 aged 80, wife of William Armstrong is clearly visible on one marker.

    1. [Q-R] 18 headstones damaged at Auburn cemetery
    2. WFlem72706 via
    3. AUBURN, Mass. – Auburn police are investigating a cemetery that was vandalized Wednesday, for the second time this year. At about 4:20 p.m., police responded to the Worcester Hebrew Cemetery for a report of vandalism. According to police, 18 headstones were knocked over or damaged. A few may be irreparable. There was about $15,000 worth of damage. It's the final resting place for generations of Jewish families in the Central Mass. area. Lewis Lasky's parents are buried there, and he was outraged when he learned what happened. "I was hurt, I was angry," he said. Although he was upset, he was not surprised given that the cemetery had been vandalized before. Jordan Robins, the cemetery's head of operations, reported damage just after Memorial Day and twice prior to that. This time, Robins thinks the vandals struck sometime this past weekend and said they left beer cans all over the place. He does not believe that this had anything to do with religion, he is certain that the cemetery is an easy target because it's in a remote, wooded area. "There is no supervision, there is no electricity," he said. A storage shed on the property was also burned down last year. Auburn police are investigating but don't have any leads, Robins said. The Jewish Federation of Central Mass. is offering a $500 reward for information that leads to the arrest and prosecution of the suspects. If you'd like to make a donation to the fund to replace the headstones, please make a check out to Worcester Hebrew Cemetery and mail it to: Jewish Federation of Central Massachusetts 633 Salisbury St. Worcester, MA 01609

    3. I really loved Mundia.com because they have the family trees that are on Ancestry.com for free. Unfortunately, they are getting rid of the website. They did not seem to understand it amounts to selling the family trees because you need a paid subscription to view what was once free. By far, the family trees are the best resource. That is even a huge part of their commercials. One problem I have with some of the Ancestry results is the pay to access results like links to Findagrave.com or some of the "obituary collection" with links that do not work. That just seems odd to me. I could understand if Ancestry.com kept saved copies on their system but it even acknowledges the link goes to an external website. One question I had for them was a search result on Google that brought me to one of the Ancestry.com pages. It appeared to be an aggregate of some data that seemed incomplete. There were no related links to it and I could not find that page from searching Ancestry.com, only from Google. He said it was a "teaser result" to presumably get people to subscribe to Ancestry.com but it has the opposite effect for me because there is absolutely no way to collaborate the information. He said it is likely generated from combined family trees but no one he could find knows. I have Family Tree Maker 2011. I had 2009 but it wouldn't allow me to generate a 10 generation vertical pedigree chart and save it as any kind of file. This actually brings us a good question. Last week I was look at my tree and I noticed some people are simply "missing." They were once there. Her parents were still there as were her children. I called Ancestry's support line and they are the nicest, friendliest people. We couldn't figure out what is wrong with it. Anyone else have any problems like that? What versions do you use? I don't use the newer version of FTM - tried it, didn't like it. I don't have my tree on ancestry. However, while using FTM in conjunction with ancestry trees may be the easiest way to function on that site, I don't believe it is a requirement. Can't you just upload a gedcom from any program to ancestry.com? In that way, you are not dependent on them. Before you get the wrong idea, I am actually not a great ancestry.com fan. While it does contain a vast amount of information, their membership fees are very high, and their search function is horrible. On top of that, there are so many transcription errors - especially with the French language databases - but they rely on their paying customers to make those corrections. However, all that said, I don't think you can blame them for a business decision that every other software company will be making at some point down the line. Technology changes very quickly. In the future, it will probably make sense for individuals to lease their computers just like businesses do. 1. [Q-R] Cormier-Cliche
    2. MK via
    3. Lin, I think I found the marriage, here, online: http://lplonline.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/St.-Peter-Paul-Marriages.pdf These are the marriages of St. Peter and Paul Church, Lewiston, ME (1869-1980). The marriage is listed on page 95. I also found in this PDF document the marriage of Georgianna's parents, Joseph Cliché & Constance Paquette. I found all this by initially searching online for Jean Cormier & Georgianna Cliché. I came across an old Ancestry.com message board posting from 2010, where someone was searching for this same couple. The posting included names of 2 of Georgianna's brothers, Benjamin and Joseph. From there I found Benjamin Cliché in the 1880 U.S. Census in Maine with his parents (Joseph & Constance) and continued to find other information from there. The message board posting said Georgianna had been previously married to a Howard Herrin, and was divorced from him before she married Jean Cormier. The PDF document with the marriages shows 2 marriages for Benjamin too. He was married, widowed, then married again. The LDS website had a bit of information on this family. If you have troubles with this web page, I saved a copy of the marriages on my computer and can send the PDF document to you. Cheers! MK

    1. Re: [Q-R] Looking for parents of this couple please
    2. yakumo1107 via
    3. Well, it isn't a lot to start. If you want to make wild leaps of faith we know they are in Maine around 1930. The 1930 US Census has a Georgianna Cormier living with Benjamin Cliche. She is 46 so she was born around 1884. I haven't been able to find her further than that. Now, Benjamin was born in the late 1870s. There is an 1880 US Census in Lisbon, Androscoggin, Maine. A Benjamin Cliche, born around 1878, was living with his parents Joseph and Constance Cliche. Joseph Cliche married Constance Paquette 13 January 1873 in Lewiston. Joseph Cliche's parents are Antoine Cliche and Christine Goulet. Constance Paquette died 8 July 1902 in Lewiston. The Maine Vital Records collection on FamilySearch has a lot of these. It says her father was Charles Paquette and Constance Romanamon. Unfortunately, Jean Cormier seems to be a fairly common name. The same 1930 Census puts his date of birth around 1886. That does narrow it some but not a lot. I hope it is some help.
