Being able to post a picture of a document, or a photograph is one benefit of facebook over the mailing lists. I love the FB Q-R group page. I am sad that some find it difficult or impossible. I've had no trouble with it. Linnie and others who have trouble signing on--just wondering if you have created a Facebook Account. You need to do that in order to access the different groups and pages. There is no charge for joining. Reine ___________________________________________ Walking is highly overrated. Reading a book is not. There is no cost to sign up for facebook, and you can make your page as private as you want it to be. I signed up for a few facebook groups when it seemed like there were less posts on genealogy lists like this. This is a very active list, but many of the the others I belong to have dwindled down to hardly any posts at all. It seems like everyone has moved to facebook and the blogs. Although some of the facebook groups are good [like the quebec group :-) others are not so great. It's hard to go back to find old messages, and in some cases, people delete their posts after they get their answers! Hi Linnie, Try clearing out your browser cache. It might just be going to the same copy of the page that is stored on your computer. Close your computer and reopen. If that doesn't work, try using a different browser. Then too many of us are not signed up for Facebook and have no desire to be. I think it is sad that this so-called social media is not open to everyone, so is not really very sociable. Patricia in SW Florida

I saw an entry in Public Family Trees on Ancestry.ca which offers that Christophe was born in St-Barthelmy QC and that Marie Girard was born in Rhode Island. Their daughter Nellie was born in Rhode Island on 2 March 1886 and she married Mederic Zotique Lacasse, Jr. who appears to have been born in Montreal in 1880 and died in 1956 in Rhode Island Doreen =========== ----- Original Message ----- From: "linp219 via" <quebec-research@rootsweb.com> To: Quebec-Research@rootsweb.com Sent: Friday, October 3, 2014 3:05:36 PM Subject: [Q-R] LAFERRIERE & GIRARD - C 1882 Looking for the marriage of Christophe LAFERRIERE & Marie GIRARD. c 1882 - 1885 Reportedly he was born in NY and Marie in Roxton Falls, Granby?
