Good afternoon genealogy angels, Does anyone have the address for the Archives Nationales du Quebec Section de Genealogy 1180 rue Berthelot Quebec City, Canada G1R 3G3 I mailed a letter April 17th and it was returned May 10th as undeliverable. Any assistance would be deeply appreciated as I am searching for my Tessier family in Beauport. Thanking you in advance, Nancy
I know what you mean. On my husbands great grandmother's death certificate (which I paid for) the info was totally wrong. They were French speaking family in the US and when they asked for the names of her parents the daughter gave them the names of HER parents. So Marie and her husband were listed as Marie's parents.Selma On Friday, May 11, 2018, 8:30:24 AM PDT, henry belrose <[email protected]> wrote: I have run into a big problem. My ancestor, William Baker, was English and was married and buried in the Anglican records - St Armand West and Pike River Cemetery. He was born about 1802 in England and was in Somerset Served in 5th Foot Regiment and Somerset Served in Royal Canadian Rifles; 23rd Foot Regiment. His wife, Bridget Glensky/Glansky etc, was born in Ireland and was Catholic. The children were raised Catholic. William was listed as a farmer after his discharge from the British army in Quebec. In the United States, there might be records of property sold/transferred (like a farm) and probate records, when the head of the household dies. William died in 1887 and his wife Bridget died in 1893. None of the children are witnesses in Bridget's death, although John Molloy was the brother of Patrick Molloy who married Bridget's daughter Mary Jane and were living in the United States. William and Bridget's son William and family were at Ste-Athanase, Iberville, Quebec in 1891. John Baker was in Farnham listed as a "Journalier". I don't find Bridget in 1891, nor Ann ELizabeth. Any ideas?
Here is my 2cents on the problem---If you have very many ancestors/trees/documents, etc. you are going to have a problem unless you upgrade to FTM2017. FTM is now owned by MacKiev. They have serious problems which they ignore & not interested in correcting----This is not just me but thousands of people who have paid & downloaded FTM 2017. The system is so slow & bogged down it takes 1/2 hr to put in info/documents, etc that should take less than 1 minute. Not kidding. Everyone using FTM 2017 is experiencingy this---MacKiev not interested in correcting the situation. Many people have switched to another genealogy program (I have switched to Roots Magic7-they are similar in looks, easy to use, & integrates with ancestry.com). Before purchasing FTM 2017 google "Problems with FTM2017". Pages & pages of people writting in stating the same problem with the program. Since MacKiev purchased FTM this could be why the older versions of FTM are a problem--had the same problems until I paid/ordered FTM2017 then had the whole new problem of super frustrating SLOW. Find a new program you can live with & transfer everything by gedcom. A pain but worth it. Suggest you contact Microsoft support. Tell them that you have a file that is reporting open when it is not open and the FTM folks cannot figure out what the problem is. MS should be able to walk you through closing the processes that are creating the issue. Not sure how MS support works now (a decade + out of the support business) but I know Apple will do an online support chat and help you with issues. Mary L. Hello Sue! Boy, oh boy! I have just received a Google Alert about you looking for a distant cousin by the name of France Rivet. From what I’m seeing in Rootsweb, you actually put up that message in June 2008!! I don’t know why Google has decided to inform me today... almost 10 years later! Somehow, I have a feeling this could be me. I seem to remember that we had an email exchange, probably more than 10 years ago, but I can’t put my hand on it. I thought I should nevertheless try to reply to your message. I haven’t done any genealogy in the past 10 years, but I just got back into it a couple of weeks ago. Looking forward to hearing back from you.
