I found this information here: http://www.geocities.ws/renaudmr/genealogie/Andre/d1.html#c2576 Francois Dumoulin. Francois married Tharsile Malette, daughter of Louis Malette and Lucie Rocbrune, on 19 Jan. 1852 in Ste-Marthe, Cte DE Soulange, Que. Tharsile was born in Oct. 1831. • Residence: 1911, Sainte-Marthe, Cte DE Soulange. Mansion with his son Amédé in 1911. The children born of this marriage are: • Lea Dumoulin was born on Jan. 15, 1859. • Residence: Resides with his parents, 1881, Sainte-Marthe-DE-Vaudreuil, Qc. Lea married Joseph Scraire, son of Moise Scirrer and Pauline Latour, on 23 Jan 1883 in St. Martha, Cte DE Soulange. Joseph was born on Oct 19, 1861. The source for this marriage is: http://www.prdh.umontreal.ca, PDÀRDH Database. I would ask the list to verify the marriage of Lea Dumoulin & Joseph Scraire, if this is the couple you are researching.
Do you have any places (towns/cities) that these people lived in? Any dates (estimated timeframe)? This would be a big help for people trying to help you. Were these two really married or just keeping house together? I can find no record of marriage in either Michigan or Quebec between these two people, Melodie and Joseph Franklin. *In 1878 Melodie Leclaire married Arthur Ayot in Berthierville, Quebec.*1891 census of Canada Franklin Lafontaine is single. *In 1910 U.S. census Melodie and Joseph Franklin Lafontaine claim they have been married for 25 years and live in Cass County, MN. They have 3 daughters. Cass County is all Indian Reservation, yet census records say they are “white.” Victor’s son said they did have Native American ancestry.*In 1914 Joseph Franklin meets Hortense Bonin and her father, Seraphin, at port of Detroit. That same year the two are married at St. Louis in Montreal.*Joseph Frank and Hortense according to 1920 census live with son, Victor, in Cass County, MN.*Joseph dies in 1920.*In his Will dated 1819 Joseph leaves a sum of money to Melodie Ayot and her 3 daughters, as well as to his wife, Hortense, and son, Victor.*Melodie dies in Michigan in 1946. This is not serious but just another example of how our ancestors managed to mess with our researching heads. Would like feedback, though. Jackie Fortier Doty Sent from Yahoo Mail for iPad
