Hi, Could some kind soul please translate the marriage information for the above couple that is found on the Quebec, Canada, Vital and Church Records (Drouin Collection), 1622-1968 Page 159 for me? Thanks, Joyce Ahern
PRDH-IGD has many "certificates" that mention religious events at Ste. Anne de Detroit. What it does not have is full information, once the baptism, marriage, or burial is listed. They had to use a transcription of the original records, not the originals; which are preserved at the Chancery of the Archdiocese of Detroit. It was photocopied by the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints (Mormons), and is available on Ancestry. A microfilm is available at the Burton Library of the Detroit Public Library. A church history at https://sites.google.com/site/20mr229/st-antoine-parish-1788-1845 says : The marriage, baptism, and burial registers of St. Mary's parish (including its predecessor St. Antoine) total 21 volumes which are continuous from the beginning date of 1794 through the mid-twentieth century. These were photographed and placed on microfilm in the 1950s and are the property of the Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit. More info at http://www.stmarymonroe.org/genealogy.html Good luck! I, If your Jean Baptiste Amable Cousineau was the son of Jean Noel Cousineau and Marie Josephe Brunet dit Letang Born 28/4/1754 in Ste-Genevieve, Montreal, he died in July 1804 and was buried in Saint Antoine Cemetery, Monroe Co. Michigan according to the USA Find a a Grave Index, 1600s-Current. Looking at Ancestry. com, I found some entries that list his date of death as 2/July/1904. I hope this is the correct one for you. Joyce

Many Family websites Had my Rodrigue but not my Verret(te) Many of the Acadian families that "returned from exile" to Quebec Quebec Family Associations Thanks: Christine Thiffault Before your Nouvelle-France Tour, you might want to check the list of family associations members of the Fédération des associations de famille du Québec (FAFQ): http://fafq.org/associations-de-familles-membres. Not all family associations will have a stand at the Nouvelle-France Festival (they might not have the resources for it), but if you contact them in advance, someone with your surname might meet with you there... or at least you can visit their website where you might find interesting information on your French-Canadian family lines.
