    3. Harriet - Here's what made me think you have the wrong guy - In these 2 directories, Joseph is living at St. Albans, an engineer for the railroad. In the 1880 census, the Joseph living in St Albans has a wife Harriet, and children George, Charles & looks like Hattie. Joseph is 39 and born in NY. He is a railroad engineer, and George works in the RR office. Because the wife listed here is different, and the birth location is NY, I was thinking it wasn't the same Joseph. But, if the children are correct, then maybe the census taker goofed. If this is the same Joseph, then maybe you should look in NY for his birth record. It's possible he didn't fill out that marriage cert. himself. Maybe the priest did it, and wrote down Canada in error? I'll send you this sheet also.
