    3. Aloha Nan, Jette, whose dictionary is quite good concerning Quebec marriages before 1731 is no help. ROY is the standard surname used for LEROI or LEROY. I checked all variations of that name and did not find any marriage that resembles what you are looking for. There was no Simon or Simeon ROY/ROI/LEROI/LEROY married in that period. Further, there are NO surnames listed in Jette that come close to the combinations you listed for Jeanne. The are very few Quebec surnames starting with W and they all came from countries other than France. There are no surnames beginning with VERB. Finally the given name Jeanette was rare in that period. I have never run across it. Why don't you tell us how you came up with this information? If you have a child of Simeon & Jeanne, please give us the particulars of that child when/where baptized or born, marriage details, etc. Jerry Lesperance, Aiea, Hawaii > I'm looking for a marriage in Quebec ca. 1685 - 1730 of a Simeon LeRoi and > a Jeanne/Jeannette Verb(e)au/Wib(e)au.
