To all:- December 6 was an important date, both in 1917 and in 1944. December 6, 1944 was D-Day in Normandy, France but the following is about the other December 6. The first part of "The Shattered City" was on CBC, started at 8:00 PM -- with time difference for Newfoundland-Labrador. Gordon Pinsent is part of the show -- the televised documentary of what happened in Halifax Harbour on December 6, 1917. The second part will be televised tomorrow evening -- same time. Readers will note I have copied in Boston-States-L@rootsweb.com and all native Nova Scotians know why the annual Christmas tree is sent to Boston before December 6th each year -- tune in and you will learn the reason.
