Hello Everyone I am new to the list and am seeking information on a place name and location in Lower Canada in the 1850's. William SWAN was born in Canada in aproximately 1828. At sometime before 1853 he migrated to Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. On his children's birth certificates he gave his birthplace as Point Laby, Lower Canada. Given the difference in accents and the assumtion that the person filling out the register would have written what he thought he heard, the closest I can come up with is either Pointe Labbé and Pointe La Baie. Does anyone know of these places, and could you please tell me where they are. I can't find them on any map. Thank you Kerrie
