    3. Hi; I don't know too much about the other names, but some Desjardins were also known as Roy, or Roy-dit-Desjardins. The Roy-Desjardins family settled first around the Quebec City/Lauzon area while the other Desjardins family settled just north of Montreal (Rivière-des-Prairies, Terrebonne, Ste-Thérèse, Ste-Rose to name a few places). For other dit names, you could consult the American-French Genealogical Society's web site at http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~afgs/index1.html which gives a list of the "dit" names plus the English variants of some names that seemed to be in use in the US.
