Bonjour/ Good day to everyone! Please forgive my very limited French- I haven't practised since grade 11, almost 10 years ago, so I'm very rusty. If requested, I can try to translate my message into French, but until that time, I will post in English, as it will make a lot more sense! : ) I am researching Jean-Baptiste DESROSIERS (born 1851, St. Hughes, Bagot, Quebec) and Aurelie GUERTIN (born 1855, St. Hughes, Bagot, Quebec). Jean-Baptiste's parents were Chrysologue DESROSIERS and Catherine DUPRE. Aurelie was the daughter of Alexis GUERTIN and Aurelie GIARD. Jean-Baptiste and Aurelie were married 19 January 1875 (place unknown, but presumed St. Hughes). They had between 14 and 18 children, most of whom have been identified and at least partially traced. One child married a FONTAINE female, also from St. Hughes area, and I believe they ended up in Manitoba. Several other children moved to Massachusetts, USA, and married, staying there. One of these married a BEAUDETTE female, another married a BRODEUR female, another married LIMERICK male. Others travelled through the USA and immigrated to British Columbia, Canada. I've tried to give a very brief overview... if more information is to anyone's benefit, please let me know and I will send a more detailed account to either this list or individuals off-list. Any information or suggestions would be gratefully accepted! This group concentrates on searching family lines that originate in Quebec and end up in Ontario -- but not limited to Ontario. Starting today... I'm going to start posting some of the lines that we have researched for people. If you have any comments, pro or con I would appreciate hearing them. And if you wish to post your own lines go right ahead. We might find that many of us interconnect.
