I have a strange set of records these are all from PRDH: Jean MILOT ( Philibert and Christine SONONAISE) m. Marie Marthe PINCON ( Pierre and Marie AUBERT) 07Jan 1654 in Montreal . ( This record states for Jean , next marriage to Mathurine Tibault) His next marriage was to Mathurine THIBAULT ( Etienne and Jeanne DELAMONTHE) 26 November 1663. In attendance at that second wedding was Marie Marthe Pincon who is listed as spouse of Jean Milot, the parents of Mathurine, Paul DECHOMEDEY DEMAISONNEUVE , governor and Zacharie DUPUY, major. My question is, why does this Jean have a second marriage with the first wife living and witnessing the second wedding? Also, what is a taillandier? That was Jean's profession listed in the record.
