I have been entering another branch of my family into the computer and I am as far back as Marin ONDOYER b. 1648 d. 1 June 1718 in Trois Rivieres. His wife was Marie ESNARD - this is also written as ENAR and ENAUD on the children's baptisms. The first child, Jacques was born in 1695 and baptised in Trois Rivieres. My ancestor is Marie-Anne ONDOYER b Feb 13, 1697 married to Jean Baptiste ST. AMANT (or PAGESI or LEPAGE PAGESY DIT ST. AMANT) 6 Sept 1717 in Quebec City. I have all of the children of this couple as they are listed in Tanguay's Dictionary. My question is this: how can I find out more about this Marie Esnard? There are two for Marie Enard/Enart in Quebec City in 1675 ( That would be 20 years before the first child was born) that could be the right ones ( if she was ever in Quebec City!) it lists the parents as Simon Enard and Marie Goubie, the other as Gilles Enart and Marie DeBure. I tend to think that neither of these are related to the Marie I'm looking for as none of those other names are on the first two children's baptisms. So my question is: is there any reference book that might tell me anything about this Marie Enard who was in Trois Rivieres before the birth of her first son Jacques on July 9, 1695?
According to Jette: Marie ENARD was the daughter of Simon & of Marie LOUBIER from La Rochelle, France. She was born 5 Oct 1675 and baptized the next day at Quebec. Seven of the 9 children of Martin & Marie lived to adulthood and married.
