Hello, I am searching for the marriage details and the parents of Joseph Albert ETHIER and Marcelline (called Marcella) BERNIER or BERNARD. The marriage might have occurred between 1845 and 1855. I have three proven daughters for this couple: Marthe b about 1853 Cobourg, ont Auralie P. b 1857 Cobourg, ont Sophie E. b 1859 Cobourg, Ont The children were orphaned in 1865. There are also family rumours of an older brother called Joseph. Marthe's death in 1875 was reported by a Joseph, but beyond that I have found no proof of this connection. Sophie and Auralie, in different documents, stated that their parents were born in Quebec, but I have no idea where in Quebec I should begin looking. I would welcome any suggestions as to where I should probably begin. I do know that some of Marcelline BERNIER's relatives went to Vermont and some of Joseph ETHIER's relatives went to northern New York state, in the mid 1800's. I have access to a FHC about an hours drive away. Any suggestions of where I might begin are appreciated. Thank you for reading.
