Hi Linda; You must be referring to the convent run by the Sisters of Ste Anne (Les Soeurs de Sainte-Anne). The first convent was built in 1864 to provide schooling to young girls. Then a new expanded convent was built in 1904, when it could accommodate 357 students of which 152 were boarders. It was integrated with the public school system some time about 1970 or so. Hope this is what you were looking for. If you want more info. doen't hesitate to write direct and I'll see if I can find it for you. Frank P.S. By coincidence, a first cousin of my mother was boarding there between 1901 and 1910. Her parents were then living in Skagway, Alaska. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Linda Maitland" <lindamaitland@telus.net> To: <QUEBEC-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, January 17, 2005 11:01 PM Subject: [QUEBEC] Convent School in Laurentians > > Does anyone know the name of a French convent boarding school for girls that > was in St-Jerome in the 1910s? > > Linda Maitland nee Maguire > White Rock (Vancouver),BC
