To all who desire the 1911 and later census records:- Bill S-18, a government bill, is presently wending its way through the Senate of Canada toward the House of Commons. It is a Bill to amend the Statistics Act, and when passed, census records from 1911 to 2001 will be released, 92 years following enumeration. It must be noted that the 1911 records should have been released June 1, 2003 -- slightly overdue. The Quebec scoreboard for Members of Parliament is found at http://www.globalgenealogy.com/Census/Score4.htm#PQ I have written letters with both languages to all -- now it is the turn of the people of Quebec to check and see if his or her Member of Parliament has 1. Never Replied --------- BLUE ? 2. Undecided ------------- GREEN symbol. There are NO RED symbols -- and some GOLD - meaning YES. As Parliament is not in session this week, very possibly you will see the MP in your home riding. I will accept your verbal reply by email -- and hoping all will be GOLD ones! Information is at http://www.globalgenealogy.com/Census in both English and Francais, as are all governmental items. Looking forward to hearing from many -- please try as I hope (and predict) this will be the last census bill by the government. Muriel M.
