    1. [QUEBEC] Joseph Paquin-Julie Boisvert
    2. I've been away from this list for a long time. Out of frustration with this family, I've been focusing on other lines. I'm so glad to hear that Best Bill is still here to help! I have an Augustus Perkins living in VT from sometime in the 1840s until death. He was b. 1818-1823 in Quebec. Death records imply [names and birth location are phonetic, I'm sure] that he's the son of Joseph PAQUIN & Julie BOISVERT. Now that Ancestry has connected to Drouin, I've spent hours trying to make this connection [or any other connection...]. Questions: -Joseph and Julie have 2 sons named Joseph b. 1815 [St. Joseph's Maskinonge] & 1817 [Ste. Elizabeth - I think this name is Joseph - hard to read], I haven't found the death of the 1st to be prior to the birth of the 2nd. I'm under the impression that boys were frequently named Joseph [and girls Marie] in Quebec and probably had a 2nd name that they actually used. No 2nd name in listed in the church records. How do I find it? -In the death record of Joseph in 1842, an Augustin Paquin is listed as a "signor" - witness? Does this tell me anything? -I've saved the baptism of the 2nd Joseph as a jpg file. Is there anyone out there who would be willing to look at it for me to tell me if the name is Joseph or something else? -I've never looked at notarial records. Are they really useful? If these people never owned land, might there be some information in those records? Thanks so much for any help!
