Anyone know her line?...... MARIE MADELINE SKINNER (NEE MORIN) 1928-2009 The family of Marie Skinner, beloved wife of the late Douglas Skinner, sadly announce her passing at the Crowsnest Pass Continuing Care Centre in Blairmore, Alberta, on Tuesday, September 22, 2009, at the age of 81. Marie was born on January 19, 1928, in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan to Elise and Joseph Morin. She was a beautiful young woman who attracted the affections of a young man named Douglas Skinner. After a brief courtship, they were married on December 14, 1945, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. They moved to Burmis in 1949 and then in 1953 settled in Coleman where they raised their seven children: Pat, Gloria, Shirley, David, Michael, Darlene, and Jeanette. Marie had a great faith in our Creator and was blessed to realize all He had to offer. She cherished most her family and she loved to spend time with them. Listening to their accomplishments and challenges, watching their hockey games and baking were some of her favorite pastimes. She had a gentle nature with her pets, a determined character with those of differing opinions and a heart full of love for her family and friends. During her younger years, she enjoyed dancing, country music and her friends at the Legion. Reading, baking for her family, or watching “Hockey Night in Canada” were highlights in her life. She especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren play minor hockey and NHL hockey. Marie encountered many struggles during her lifetime, but she always maintained a strong faith in God, encouraging her children to continue to know, love and serve Him. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but we know that she now rests in the Lord’s presence. She is survived by her children: Pat (Allan) Rypien of Coleman; Gloria Skinner of Calgary; Shirley (Guy) Livingston of Coleman; David (Natalie) Skinner of Coleman; Michael (Lori) Skinner of Okotoks; Darlene Skinner of Lethbridge; and Jeannette (Peter) Skinner of Fruitvale, BC; her 21 grandchildren; and her 20 great grandchildren; her sisters-in-law: Bertha Morin, Theresa Morin & Karen Morin; and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family. Marie was predeceased by her beloved husband Douglas Skinner (1996); her parents Joseph & Elise Morin; her infant son; and her grandson Mark Arcand; her seven brothers: John Morin, Jules Morin, Michael Morin, Albert Morin, George Morin, Robert Morin, Charles Morin; her two sisters: Mary Moran and Theresa Dumas.
