She was my great grandmother. Born and married to William in Aberdeen, Scotland, she came to Canada around 1910. She died on July 19, 1911 and was buried on July 22, 1911. She lived in Brownsburg just prior to her death. She is listed as a Methodist in the Drouin collection and was in a register entitled "Protestants of the district of St. Jerome of Terrebonne, Quebec Province." I am searching for the cemetery where she would be buried. I'm hoping to find out who her parents were. Does anybody know where the cemetery might be? Someone told me she might be buried in Lachute cemetery, but I don't know where that is. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Susan Porco
Hi, There may be a Volunteer at Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness - Quebec - who may be able to assist http://www.raogk.org/quebec.htm Just a thought. Your Ggrandmother passed away July 1911 - Buried July 22 1911. Cemetery Records may not show - the names of her parents - Most will only show - the date of death., burial - section, grave, plot number. Who purchased the gravesite etc. Should show the name of the Funeral Home in Charge of Arrangements. Funeral Home may have taken information required for the Registraton of Death Registration of Death - shows all personal information required at the time. *not certain about Quebec registrations. but may show - name, address. age, date and place of birth. occupation. Names of Parents - including mothers maiden name - If Known to the Informant. Obtaining your GGrandmothers Death Registration/Genealogical Registraton of Death/ Long form Death Certificate - may show the name of the Cemetery. - as well all the above personal information. Just found the following: http://simmons.b2b2c.ca/attach1.htm When was your GGrandmother Born? - Where was she Married.? Have you searched - Free BMD - for your grandmothers birth? Marriage? http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/ At 09:25 AM 19/10/2009, you wrote: >She was my great grandmother. Born and married to William in >Aberdeen, Scotland, she came to >Canada around 1910.
