Hi list I am trying to help my hubby learn about his roots, and could sure use some advice and help!! on 1881 census I found this listing James AUMELIE M Male Irish 35 Ireland Clerk Catholic Isabelle AUMELIE Female Irish 8 Quebec Scholar Anglican Charles AUMELIE Male Irish 10 Quebec Scholar Anglican John BOYCE M Male Irish 24 Quebec Anglican Isabelle BOYCE M Female Irish 24 Quebec Anglican John Nelson BOYCE Male Irish 7 Quebec Scholar Anglican Source Information: Census Place Notre-Dame Ward, Trois-Rivieres, Ste-Maurice, Quebec Family History Library Film 1375850 NA Film Number C-13214 District 83 Sub-district D Page Number 9 Household Number 34 ____________________ I have this marriage reg. from MATTAWA which seems to fit well with the above On the 2nd November one thousand eight hundred eighty one, we the undersigned priest, after the giving of three bans and service granted by us by virtue of the powers given to us by Monsignor J. Bishop Thomas Duhamel of Ottawa, have received the mutual consent of marriage between John BOYCE widower in his first wedding of Isabella Haddams ( believe it should say ADAMS) from Trois Riviere on the one hand and Matilda Belair minor daughter of Olesime Belair and Suzanne Laronde consent. Were present at the agreement of marriage. Olesime Belair, the girl's father and Jean Allard her brother-in-law who were unable to sign with us. I am trying to learn about John Boyce, John and Matilda's daughter Agnes married Eugene Lafleur June 29, 1908 in North Bay. These are my husbands grandparents. John Boyce married Isabella Adams in Trois-Rivieres Prebyterian Church July 31, 1872 she was a minor when she married and I think her father was Alexander Adams I would love to known more about John Boyce, who were his parents ? where he was from his birth / bapt date etc. I don't think his age is correct on this census because on marriage registration it say he was of age and a bachlor so had to be 21 years at least in 1872. I found no death for his wife Isabelle she had to have died in 1881 after census was taken and what happened to John Nelson ?
