    3. Does anyone have any information about children sent from Irish institutions in the early 20th century please?  I have finally found someone I think is my late father, after years of trying to trace him.  He was sent to Nazareth Lodge in Belfast at the age of 4 and from there to St Columba's Industrial School, Killybegs, Co. Donegal at the age of 11.  My question is, is there any evidence of children from St Columba's being sent to Canada?  This would have been around the time of the First World War.    Any help would be much appreciated. The 1st person with the Gould name I will discuss, was a horse dealer and trader by the name of Rou Gould (Mr Gould to us kids) who lived in the house right next to the said bridge on the north side of the Union Village Bridge back in the late 40's until he died in the late 6-'s or early 70's. The Town of Thetford may have some town records on the gentleman that might be available to you upon request. He was a real nicve fellow and from what I remember, he could determine the worth of a horse and how good it was just by l;ooking at them, let alone checking them over by a close inspection of the physical condition, including their eyes, teeth and so forth. He was the agent that we used to rent out our orses to the summer camps up around Lake Fairlee, Lake Morey and to the Summer camps over in New Hampshire, up behind Piermont and over near Mt Cube near Lyme, NH. How I know is becasue with my mother (who was an expert horse woman and many Blue Ribbons at the fairs with horses), another young boy,  I use to ride one and lead from 2-5 horses to the summer camps from the farm in the Stevens District  in Thetford where I lived and was raised. The rental money we recieved from the summer camps was how we kept the farm going as it paid the bills. We always had from 40 to 60 hordes all the time. Mr Gould was always fair and he treated us kids who helped my mother very well. The second gentleman by the name of Gould is still living in the Town of Thetford and he lives down in the Stevens District, with a now retired American Legin member who was a WW II B-17/B-24 or B-25 Bomber crew member over Nazi Germany, as well as a former Thetford Academy Scienc teacher, now retired and in poor health, by the name of Roberty Bacon  ( a distint cousin wh also is of Abenaki ancestry as I am). This fellow named Gould (the 1st name I can not remember) works  and he takes care of Mr Bacon also. I do not know if this information will be of help to you, but I feel that if I did not let you know about these two gentlemen by the name of Gould, I would be quite remiss in helping you to locate the lineages that you are looking for when one or, even possibly both were related to those individuals that you are seeking. Unfortunately, this is all the information that I can give to you, but I will pray that in some way it helps you to find the ones that you are seeking. Until later. Be well. stay well and treat yoursef well. Aquini and Adio. Respectfully Yours, Howard ----- Original Message ----- From: "Edward Gould Burton" <genealogyted@cableone.net> To: <QUEBEC@rootsweb.com>; <VERMONT@rootsweb.com>; <VTWINDHA@rootsweb.com>; <VTDATA@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, March 07, 2010 2:42 PM Subject: [QUEBEC] [VTWINDHA] Eunice Wakefield, 1810-1862,Abel Gould/Goold 1808 -1875 This is a periodic request I make from time to time.
