Hi Sheila, There are 3 "Home Children" data bases that I know of. The one just mentioned is one of them. If you post your question on the "British Home Children" List, you will probably get some information. There is a researcher / professor on that List who is very knowledgeable about the "sending agencies." (There is also a BHC Board.) * And, you can search on-line for either "British Home Children" or "Home Children, Canada" to find web sites about them. Betty (near Lowell, MA, USA) * I'd also like to mention that I requested a new Message Board to go along with my CAN-USA-Migration List a couple months ago. The Help Desk decided to start up 2 Boards instead, with both gatewayed to that List. They can be found under the "Immigration and Emigration" category. ----- Original Message ----- From: "SHEILA FOREMAN" <sheila_foreman@btinternet.com> To: <quebec@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, March 08, 2010 1:13 PM Subject: [QUEBEC] Possible child migrant Does anyone have any information about children sent from Irish institutions in the early 20th century please? I have finally found someone I think is my late father, after years of trying to trace him. He was sent to Nazareth Lodge in Belfast at the age of 4 and from there to St Columba's Industrial School, Killybegs, Co. Donegal at the age of 11. My question is, is there any evidence of children from St Columba's being sent to Canada? This would have been around the time of the First World War. Any help would be much appreciated. Sheila ---
