    1. [QUEBEC] planete genealogie Web Site
    2. Russell Dorr
    3. Good Morning:   I am a subscriber to this Web site which is entirely in French. I am not a very good reader of French - I just heard my grandparents at home. Anyway, I am unable to reach the GEDCOMs to search the databases all at once like I once was able to do. I've been trying to figure it out with the help of Tommy Turcotte of that site with no luck. Is anyone a subscriber who can tell me in English how to get to all the GEDCOMs (Tommy said it was Tous Les GEDCOMS) so that I can search them all at once? (I can get to the individual databases.)   Here's the URL:   http://genealogie.planete.qc.ca/   Thanks,   Bud Dorr

This free-access National Site is proud to announce that there are more than 500 cemeteries completely photographed and onboard, amounting to over 350,000 searchable photographs. There have been over 560,000 visitors to the site. Each day there are over 200 folks browsing the site and there are over 10,000 name searches each month. * 3. If you have family or friends anywhere in Canada, who may be interested in photographing their local cemeteries, please inform them of the availability of The Canadian Gravemarker Gallery. Their photographed cemeteries will have wide exposure on this National Cemetery website. * 4. If you and/or your organization is interested in your local cemeteries going online, please contact Murray Pletsch at: pletsch@cogeco.ca or murray@gravemarkers.ca * 5. A comprehensive "Tips and Hints" brochure will be sent to all interested folks....to help them get started to photograph entire cemeteries. * * SUBSCRIBING TO THE WEBSITE UPDATES NEWSLETTER: ******************************************** Don't miss future monthly updates. Subscribe to the automatic Gravemarker Galleries Newsletter. Please go to the Website at: http://www.gravemarkers.ca and click on the "Join Updates Newsletter" button located just above the weather row. * ****************************************************** * HELPFUL HINTS: ************* 1. Cemeteries have spousal duplicated photographs. This means a photo which also has the spouse's maiden name showing, is duplicated and when one searches using the onboard search engine, for a surname, the spouse's surname will be reported as a separate "search result". * 2. If your "search engine" keyword is the same as a city, town, village, township then please read the valuable tips below: * A. *CONCERN:* If your "search engine" keyword you are using is say: pembrok* then your search will pick up all the pembroke surnames....*BUT* ...it will also pick up all the website pages where pembroke is used as a meta name. * B. *SOLUTION:* Change your keyword to pembrok1 and the search engine will only pick up the gravemarkers with the pembroke surname. * ASSISTANCE: ********** * 1. Should you wish to help out with this ongoing huge project financially or in other ways, please read the document located at: * http://www.gravemarkers.ca/assist.htm for more details. * * Best regards......Murray Pletsch * Cdn Gravemarker Gallery - http://www.gravemarkers.ca * Ontario Historic Gallery - http://www.rootsweb.com/~cannor * ********************************************* *

    1. [QUEBEC] Obit - MARIE MADELINE SKINNER (NEE MORIN)
    2. Gary Boivin
    3. Anyone know her line?...... MARIE MADELINE SKINNER (NEE MORIN) 1928-2009 The family of Marie Skinner, beloved wife of the late Douglas Skinner, sadly announce her passing at the Crowsnest Pass Continuing Care Centre in Blairmore, Alberta, on Tuesday, September 22, 2009, at the age of 81. Marie was born on January 19, 1928, in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan to Elise and Joseph Morin. She was a beautiful young woman who attracted the affections of a young man named Douglas Skinner. After a brief courtship, they were married on December 14, 1945, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. They moved to Burmis in 1949 and then in 1953 settled in Coleman where they raised their seven children: Pat, Gloria, Shirley, David, Michael, Darlene, and Jeanette. Marie had a great faith in our Creator and was blessed to realize all He had to offer. She cherished most her family and she loved to spend time with them. Listening to their accomplishments and challenges, watching their hockey games and baking were some of her favorite pastimes. She had a gentle nature with her pets, a determined character with those of differing opinions and a heart full of love for her family and friends. During her younger years, she enjoyed dancing, country music and her friends at the Legion. Reading, baking for her family, or watching “Hockey Night in Canada” were highlights in her life. She especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren play minor hockey and NHL hockey. Marie encountered many struggles during her lifetime, but she always maintained a strong faith in God, encouraging her children to continue to know, love and serve Him. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but we know that she now rests in the Lord’s presence. She is survived by her children: Pat (Allan) Rypien of Coleman; Gloria Skinner of Calgary; Shirley (Guy) Livingston of Coleman; David (Natalie) Skinner of Coleman; Michael (Lori) Skinner of Okotoks; Darlene Skinner of Lethbridge; and Jeannette (Peter) Skinner of Fruitvale, BC; her 21 grandchildren; and her 20 great grandchildren; her sisters-in-law: Bertha Morin, Theresa Morin & Karen Morin; and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family. Marie was predeceased by her beloved husband Douglas Skinner (1996); her parents Joseph & Elise Morin; her infant son; and her grandson Mark Arcand; her seven brothers: John Morin, Jules Morin, Michael Morin, Albert Morin, George Morin, Robert Morin, Charles Morin; her two sisters: Mary Moran and Theresa Dumas. The Prayer Service for the late Marie Skinner will be held on Friday, October 2, 2009, at 7:00 PM at the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2009, at 11:00 AM at the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas Vadassery as Celebrant: Pallbearers are: Wes Rypien, Darren Rypien, Allan Rypien, Raymond Campbell, Monty Harris, Clint Harris, Clayton Belseck and Douglas Skinner. 3. Does anyone know her line?.... Ronalda Davidson, nee Cormier Ronalda Davidson of Coleman, beloved wife of Howard Davidson, and loving mother of Roxanne, Rosalind, Scotty & Debra passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at the Crowsnest Pass Health Care Centre in Blairmore, Alberta, after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 61 years. On February 7, 1948, Ronalda was born to Aurore and Fred Cormier in Minto, New Brunswick. At the age of 19, Ronalda met her best friend Howard Davidson, and they married on May 13, 1967. Blessed with four children -- Roxanne, Rosalind, Scotty, and Debra – they moved their family from New Brunswick to the Crowsnest Pass in 1980. Ronalda had a love for music and enjoyed listening to a wide range of artists such as Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, Alice Cooper, & Nana Mouskouri. She enjoyed communicating with her family and friends on “Facebook”, shopping for scrapbooking supplies, playing Scrabble and spending time gardening. Her favorite pastime was picking pinecones. Travelling with her husband and children to Mazatlan and across Canada was precious time that Ronalda spent with her family. She proudly served as a member of the Coleman Legion #9, and the Ladies’ Auxiliary, and volunteered for Child Find. Ronalda had a loving relationship with God, who gave her the faith to remain strong in spirit for her family during her illness. She will be forever missed but always remembered by them. Left to celebrate her life is her beloved husband of 42 years Howard Davidson of Coleman; her loving children: Roxanne (Darin) Loos of Peace River, Alberta; Rosalind Davidson (Loren Hassibi) of Calgary, Alberta; Scotty Davidson of Bellevue; and Debra (Ryan) MacEachern of Hillcrest, Alberta; her grandchildren: Jessica Davidson, Liam MacEachern, Marci and Kirah Loos; her mother Aurore Cormier of New Brunswick; her brothers: Rolly (Karen) Cormier of Ontario; Rudolph Cormier of New Brunswick; Regis Cormier (Alice Powers) of New Brunswick; Raymond Cormier (Cindy Hood) of New Brunswick; Rita Madore (Gary Mclean) of New Brunswick; Rachel (Lyndon) Flower of Ontario; and her brother-in-law Earl Brown of New Brunswick. 3. Hi, There may be a Volunteer at Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness - Quebec - who may be able to assist http://www.raogk.org/quebec.htm Just a thought. Your Ggrandmother passed away July 1911 - Buried July 22 1911. Cemetery Records may not show - the names of her parents - Most will only show - the date of death., burial - section, grave, plot number. Who purchased the gravesite etc. Should show the name of the Funeral Home in Charge of Arrangements. Funeral Home may have taken information required for the Registraton of Death Registration of Death - shows all personal information required at the time. *not certain about Quebec registrations. but may show - name, address. age, date and place of birth. occupation. Names of Parents - including mothers maiden name - If Known to the Informant. Obtaining your GGrandmothers Death Registration/Genealogical Registraton of Death/ Long form Death Certificate - may show the name of the Cemetery. - as well all the above personal information. Just found the following: http://simmons.b2b2c.ca/attach1.htm When was your GGrandmother Born? - Where was she Married.? Have you searched - Free BMD - for your grandmothers birth? She lived in Brownsburg just prior to her death. 3. Hi Frank I have 2 sources for the marriage Paradis/Paradis Paradis descendants by Linda Dube Page 255 vol 1 and (Drouin Microfilm from Best Bill) I have the marriage of Joseph & Henriette Courchesne in Linda's book but it doesn't mention a marriage for daughter Olivine. I don't have access to the marriage of Woonsocket, Providence County, Rhode Island, to check it out. Was hoping someone on the list had access and could do that for me. Olivine born in 1864 would be a good possibility but I can't prove it. Thanks for sending the bapt info to me. I have her parents in my FTM with no children. Now I have this one. Take care and good luck Renée -----Original Message----- From: quebec-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:quebec-bounces@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of Francis T. I've searched everywhere and couldn't find it. Not any Olivine born in a time-farme that would make her of age to marry in 1887. I found the Paradis-Chamard wedding in Yamaska, but not the other one. But I did find the baptism of Victoire Olivine Paradis, dau of Joseph Paradis and Henriette Courchesn, bapt. in St-Germain-de-Grantham on 22 April 1864, born the previous day. Sponsors were Guillaume Courchesne & Philomene Lespérance. St-Gernain-de-Grantham is town rift next to Drummondville and not that far from Yamaska. Could be the one you're looking for. 3. Hi Ray; Was able to find some Liebich data but not the death of Max Alfred. Seems they were Anglican, and found the death of probably a son in Westmount Adventist Anglican in 1941, but not Max or Maximilian. Would suggest you check the non-catholic deaths at the Quebec Archives in Montreal where they have deaths listed on cardex (both Catholic and non-Catholic) at the Bibliotèque & Archives Narionales du Québec, Viger Street, Montreal. If you can't go there yourself, you might contact them and they MIGHT search. It wouldn't take much time as the cards are filed alphabetically. If you want to call them, search under BANQ - you'll find the full address, tel. nos. etc. Seems the family did not use the Wheatleigh surname in Quebec.
