Hi, Did you add the =seguin to end of link? I saw that it didn't finish the link when the message got delivered to the list. Try that. If it still doesn't work, then you can just go to ftdna.com and then go to projects or see what else they have to offer. Hi Francoise, FTDNA may have other tests you and this possible sister can take. A great place to ask questions for DNA is on the Rootsweb list for DNA. That link to request is: genealogy-dna-request@rootsweb.com There are a lot of very experienced people on this list that can guide you in there right direction as to what tests you should order, etc. Sue -----Original Message----- From: quebec-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:quebec-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of FRANCOISE SEGUIN Sent: Friday, January 15, 2010 10:56 AM To: quebec@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [QUEBEC] DNA testing? Hi Fran, What you want is paternity testing. I found this place http://www.genetrack.com/sibship.php However, it looks like the results won't necessarily give you an answer. You could contact them to see if testing other relatives might give a better outcome. Hi, You can go to ftdna.com and order a test. Your best bet is to go through one of their projects to order a test. You would order either the mtDNA test or Autosomal test. The mtDNA test only checks the mother's side. Both male and female can take this test. For females, they cannot do the Y-DNA which does father's surname. Here is the link for the Seguin project that you can order a test. Also, to save money in the long run, your best test for mtDNA is both the HVR1 and HVR2. That is the complete test. You may match on test 1 but not on test 2. This will verify the complete match. I have done the complete test for my lines. It goes you, mother, mother's mother, etc. The name changes for each generation. http://www.familytreedna.com/surname-search-results.aspxsType=bw&Searchname2 =seguin Hope I haven't confused you. Hi Paula; No one seems to have found this wedding. While they may have had children baptised in St-Ulric according to what you wrote (names and dates would have been helpful), there was at least one baptism in Ste-Féliciré, Co. Rimouski. They were listed in Rimouski Dist., Ste-Félicité St Denis in the 1891 census where I got the names of the children. Azilda was listed as Desilda or Derilda, 27 yrs old. She was listed with her parents in the 1871 census for Rimouski East, Twp of Matane. In some family trees she is shown as being born in 1858 (no source of reference) but was in fact baptised in Matane (parish of St-Jérôme) on 21 April 1864, born the previous day. She was the d/o Octave Rouleau and Arthemise St-Pierre (Source Ancestry.com,. Drouin Vital and Church Records (Drouin Collection, 1621-1967). That was the only "Izilda" Rouleau that I found, and the age corresponds with that in the 1891 census. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Bernard CASSIDY of Corris, Quebec, Canada which was taken at the Barrie Studio in Richmond, Quebec. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880's or 1890's with Bernard likely about 8 years old at the time. I am hoping to locate someone from Bernard's family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thank, Shelley

Hello I hope somebody in Canada can help me with a problem I have in a family tree I am researching. The family: Rose Ellen Mose (born 1873 Maidstone, kent England) Joseph Mose (born about 1875 Isling, London) Rose Ellen Mose (born 1897 Holborn, London). Travelled to Canada in 1904 and as soon as they arrived had a son William G E Mose. The family travelled back to England sometime between 1908 and 1911. However there has never been any trace of Rose Ellen Mose who was born in 1897. Was she married and therefore stayed in Canada? Or did she die in Canada? Any information would be gratefully received. Thank you Ann
