Wow, I post the PRDH website on this forum several times a month but here we go again: http://www.genealogie.umontreal.ca/en/acces.htm It gives Quebec baptisms, marriages, burials and some other genealogical important info that occurred between the beginning (about 1620) up to 1800, in English and in French. Certain basic information like given name/surname, place and year of a rite is free. You have to subscribe for a modest fee to get more detailed info such as exact date, names of bride and groom's parents. One nice feature, for free, is to click on "First and Last Names" on the main page, then go to the third paragraph where there is a hyperlink about variations of a surname. Once there place a surname in and you'll get every variation of that name and the frequency that variation occurred in the approx. 700,000 entries in their database. Jerry, Hawaii > Would you please give me more information about the online PRDH? What type of information or records are located there? Is there a fee to access the site?
I am looking for the line of Josephe VITRI ST.GERMAIN who was born @ 1727 and died 21 Dec. 1772 in Les Cedres Quebec. She married Jean Baptiste Martin St. Jean. I am descended through her daughter Angelique Martin who married Paul Milot 23 Oct 1774 in Les Cedres Quebec. Any information about the VITRI/VITRI ST GERMAIN family or the MARTIN DIT ST> JEAN family would be appreciated would be appreciated. Mary Frego Coates coates@tnt21.com
The on-line PRDH doesn't show anything about Josephe except her burial which you apparently already have. VITRI is a variation of the preferred surname LEVITRE. I suspect that you are going to have a tough one an this. I looked at all the PRDH Jean or Jean-Baptiste MARTIN marriages from 1740 to 1770 and found none to a Josephe VITRI/LEVITRE/St GERMAIN Jerry Lesperance, Hawaii ----- Original Message ----- From: "Coates Family" <coates@tnt21.com> To: <QUEBEC-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, August 07, 2004 12:04 PM Subject: [QUEBEC] Josephe Vitri St. Germain/Martin St. Jean > I am looking for the line of Josephe VITRI ST.GERMAIN who was born @ 1727 > and died 21 Dec. 1772 in Les Cedres Quebec. The PRDH doesn't list any Marie-Anne born to Francois LANGLOIS and Josephe GENEST. If you can tell us who Marie-Anne married someone may be able track the right parents. Jackie Hostage

Has anyone done any work on the MALET family of Vaudreuil? ANTOINE MALET son of JEAN BAPTISTE MALET and MARIE ANTOINE TIBAUDAUL was born 2 Dec 1786. I am wondering if he is the Antoine Mallette who moved to northern NY in the 1830's. I am also curious about the line of AUGUSTIN MALET of Vaudreuil as one of the NY children was called Justin and I think Augustin may be his grandfather/uncle. Mary Frego Coates coates@tnt21.com
Aloha, I'm working on biographies of Hurons who emigrated from pays du huron (Huronia) to Quebec in the middle of the 17th century. I would appreciate names of any that you may have. If they were women I'd appreciate their husband's name if known. Of course if any of you already have a bio on any of the 17th century Huron emigrants, I'd be happy to have that, too. Hi Norm, I received some time ago a very nice piece from a lady in California who had done the ANAIR line because of her husband, I believe. I have unfortunately lost her e-mail address and wish I could get it again. She was ever so helpful when I kept trying to find my great grandfather Anair in Salem, VT which I found out was now Derby, VT. Don't forget folks that you can go to PRDH at http://www.genealogie.umontreal.ca/en/acces.htm In the left column on the main page, click on "First and Last Names", then in the third paragraph click on the hyperlink "about the spellings associated with each name " . You can then find the frequency of each associated spelling of a surname in the approximately 700,000 certificates in the PRDH's data base (events before 1800) .ANAIR is not listed. I have been entering another branch of my family into the computer and I am as far back as Marin ONDOYER b. 1648 d. 1 June 1718 in Trois Rivieres. His wife was Marie ESNARD - this is also written as ENAR and ENAUD on the children's baptisms. The first child, Jacques was born in 1695 and baptised in Trois Rivieres. My ancestor is Marie-Anne ONDOYER b Feb 13, 1697 married to Jean Baptiste ST. AMANT (or PAGESI or LEPAGE PAGESY DIT ST. AMANT) 6 Sept 1717 in Quebec City. I have all of the children of this couple as they are listed in Tanguay's Dictionary. My question is this: how can I find out more about this Marie Esnard? There are two for Marie Enard/Enart in Quebec City in 1675 ( That would be 20 years before the first child was born) that could be the right ones ( if she was ever in Quebec City!) it lists the parents as Simon Enard and Marie Goubie, the other as Gilles Enart and Marie DeBure. I tend to think that neither of these are related to the Marie I'm looking for as none of those other names are on the first two children's baptisms. So my question is: is there any reference book that might tell me anything about this Marie Enard who was in Trois Rivieres before the birth of her first son Jacques on July 9, 1695?
According to Jette: Marie ENARD was the daughter of Simon & of Marie LOUBIER from La Rochelle, France. She was born 5 Oct 1675 and baptized the next day at Quebec. Seven of the 9 children of Martin & Marie lived to adulthood and married.
