    2. Hi Harriet. I know most of these Boyce's aren't from VT, but take a look through them. They may help with some spellings of the name and maybe one of them rings a bell. Couldn't find any Hefflon's for you - the one I have gives no information that may be of help - but if you want it, I'll pass it along. This comes from my book, "Bible, Marriage & Family Records Gleaned from Revolutionary War Pensions", volume 4, page 59. VA/PA ABRAHAM BOYCE/BOICE m. HANNAH WELLS, 7 Aug 1786, by Rev. Then of course there is the fact that Silas HEFFLON supposedly came to Franklin before 1812 from Rhode Island and can't find him there either but know he was born in Ireland so he had to have come by ship sometime around 1775. The other man who I serve in the legislature with is Albert Everett WEARE who goes by the name Everett. He is somehow connected to the WARE who was a Ship's captain in Maine and my grandfather's brother married his granddaughter Julia WARE. So George MERCIER's daughter has done the research and has it with the DAR for her mother but getting the MERCIER lineage is difficult because my great grandmother died and her husband gave the children to friends and relatives to raise. My great Uncle Joseph MERCIER lived with a family in the Walpole Keene, NH area and he married a Josie BELIVEAU of Jaffrey, NH. Of course I keep getting stories from the two remaining elderly cousins, ones 90 and the other is 93. Minds very sharp though. Oh well I will continue this mess. 2. My memory failed me in my previous post. Diane Sheppard has written a three-part (not two-part) article about the Deerfield captives for _Michigan's Habitant Heritage_, the Journal of the French-Canadian Heritage Society of Michigan. The first part was published in April, the second in July. I've seen Part 3, the one summarizing the Rising / Raizenne family, which will appear in October. 3. Would some kind person be able to look up the Quebec BDMs for me. I am trying to find the death of Joseph Coveney (or Coveny). According to the 1881 census he was born in Ireland about 1811, and at the time of the census was 71 years of age and living in the Montcalm Ward, Quebec, with his wife Johanna. I am particularly interested in their dates of death, as well as the names of the parents, especially Joseph Coveney. Thanking you so very much in anticipation, Deirdre Blunt, From Australia

[I also keep activity percentages per province] Believe it or not, when the 1911 census is released, it will include the Canadian province of Quebec. Let's try and gather as many as possible before September 15th, 2004 -- the release date was June 1, 2003. 25 signatures were received from Victoria, BC -- Senate [The sender must be a golfer -- a beautiful stamp] 18 signatures for the Senate from Cornwall, ON 1 signature from SOUTH AFRICA with note as follows:- Stewart Green 17 Jesmond Road Pietermaritzburg 3201 SOUTH AFRICA Dear Muriel:- Re: Non-Resident Petition of Support to the Senate of Canada Attached please find my petition for public access to Canada's historic census records. I am signing this petition because my grandfather lived in British Columbia in the 1910's and 1920's and access to post-1901 census data will assist me greatly in researching my family history. I would like to thank the post-1901 census project for the work they have done and wish you all the best in your endeavour. Yours sincerely, Stewart C. ( This record states for Jean , next marriage to Mathurine Tibault) His next marriage was to Mathurine THIBAULT ( Etienne and Jeanne DELAMONTHE) 26 November 1663. In attendance at that second wedding was Marie Marthe Pincon who is listed as spouse of Jean Milot, the parents of Mathurine, Paul DECHOMEDEY DEMAISONNEUVE , governor and Zacharie DUPUY, major. My question is, why does this Jean have a second marriage with the first wife living and witnessing the second wedding? Also, what is a taillandier? That was Jean's profession listed in the record. Thanks for any thoughts on this. Mary Frego Coates

    3. You'll get more out of PRDH if you study all of the definitions. In the second marriage in the column "PR. (Presence) there is a "d" for Marie-Marthe meaning "deceased. Mathurine's parents were both deceased. After Jean in the column (M.S.) you'll see a "v" for widower. Jette: The first wife was buried 23 Jan 1653 at Montreal. Taillandier = maker of edged tools (knives, etc.) Jerry from a tiny dot in the middle of the Pacific. > > > Jean MILOT ( Philibert and Christine SONONAISE) m. Marie Marthe PINCON ( > Pierre and Marie AUBERT) 07Jan 1654 in Montreal .
