    2. Gilles Gariépy
    3. Hi Pat, In the old (and sometime unreliable) dictionnary published in the 19th century by Cyprien Tanguay, there is an entry on a Joseph BRAZEAU married to a Marie-Françoise DEZIER. No other detail about his marriage, nor about the bride; and no link made to Charles BRAZEAU and Genevieve QUENNEVILLE. But Tanguay writes that Joseph BRAZEAU was buried on June the 4th, 1779, in Kaskakia. A footnote adds that he was in Kaskakia on June 12th, 1959, and that (20 years later, shall we understand) he was killed by the Indians on the bank of Kaskakia River. I don't know this will help, but just in case... Gilles G. Pat Hammons a écrit: > I am looking for information on Marie Francoise La Dizier in PRDH, I > beleive she may have been born about 1719. Charles BRAZEAU of Montreal, son of Charles and Genevieve Quenneville, married 18 January 1743 Francoise MELOT (MALLET), daughter of dec. Pierre and Francoise Rabut Joseph BRAZEAU, son of Joseph and Francoise DIZIER, married 7 November 1679 Therese Bienvenu-Delisle, daughter of Louis and Marie-Therese Bissot Louis BRAZEAU, born in this parish, son of Joseph and Francoise DIZIER married 17 Jan 1776, Marie Francoise Delisle, daughter of Louis and Marie Therese de Vincennes Notred-Dame de l'Immaculee Conception des Kaskaskias Records copied by Marthe Faribault-Beauregard, _La population des forts français d'Amérique_, Editions Bergeron, 1984. 2. I have Charles Brazeau and Genevieve Quenneville in my database with a son, Charles, botn 15 Nov. 1711 but his marriage would probably not be included in Jette or the PRDH if it was outside of Quebec. But Tanguay does show the marriage of Joseph Brazeau to Francois DEZIER (No location or date. He shows Joseph in Kaskaskia in 1759 and died there 4 June 1779. I checked the Kaskaskia marriage site (_http://www.randolphcountyillinois.net/sub23.htm_ (http://www.randolphcountyillinois.net/sub23.htm) ) and found two other Charles BRAZEAU but not that marriage. Perhaps you'll find some other clues at that online resource. Happy hunting, Jackie Hostage

    1. William Locker Pickmore Felton
    2. Hello, I am particularly interested in William Locker PICKMORE Felton, a member of the Canadian Parliament in the 19th Century. I note this gentleman is mentioned in the dictionary of National biography. This gent interests me because he has a very unusual thrid name, PICKMORE - only a handful of people now carry this surname in the whole world. Would anyone know his genealogy? I am interested to know why he had this family name of Pickmore, Was his father a friend of the governor of Newfoundland, Francis Pickmore, or was there a Pickmore connection? Any leads would be gratefully received. regards Peter de Loriol, from the UK

    3. Hello Everyone I am new to the list and am seeking information on a place name and location in Lower Canada in the 1850's. William SWAN was born in Canada in aproximately 1828. At sometime before 1853 he migrated to Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. On his children's birth certificates he gave his birthplace as Point Laby, Lower Canada. Given the difference in accents and the assumtion that the person filling out the register would have written what he thought he heard, the closest I can come up with is either Pointe Labbé and Pointe La Baie. Does anyone know of these places, and could you please tell me where they are. I can't find them on any map. Thank you Kerrie

    3. To the following:- Senator Douglas Roche -- Alberta Senator Lowell Murray -- Ontario Senator Yves Morin - Quebec Senator Noel A. Kinsella - New Brunswick Senator Gerald Comeau -- Nova Scotia http://www.globalgenealogy.com/Census/Senscore1.htm Check the above URL, click on your various provinces and you will find the glaring RED X for all to see -- your personal message boards do not state very much. Personally, knowing there might be problems after the 1901 census, I have been working for release of the 1911 and later census records since late 1980s. Very possibly many are familiar with the Canada Census Committee a group of Canadians and also Americans working for release of the records. The reasons vary -- lost family members, genetically inherited diseases, Home Children -- I could give you several more. None of the more than 7.5 million researchers in Canada are doing this for public and profitable gain. Families have separated over the years, addresses become lost -- plus we have marriages and deaths. The Canada Census Committee members will be very happy to leave your personal glaring RED X for all to note -- IF logical reasons WHY you feel the census should not be released. During this past summer, members of the Acadian communities in Nova Scotia celebrated -- my home community was founded in 1603 before Port Royal so I am justly proud. The CBC will air a two-hour show tomorrow evening at 7 PM EST -- should you watch this show, you might understand why heritage is valuable. I will be looking forward to YOUR personal answers -- when these are received, Gordon Watts will post them on your message board. Sincerely, Muriel M.
