At the beginning of this past week I sent the following House petitions to the Hon. Don Boudria who has agreed to be our new 'champion' in the House of Commons. BC 1171 AB 425 SK 489 MB 122 ON 1213 QC 148 NB 2 NS 332 NL -- PE -- NT -- YT -- NU -- ========= Total 3902 From the numbers of signatures shown for the different areas you can see that some regions need to get into gear. Release of Historic Census records will benefit genealogists and historians in ALL areas, including those which have not to date sent us any signatures. Since mailing these petitions I have received a further 30 from Nova Scotia, 5 from Ontario, and 500 from Alberta -- including 468 from the Edmonton Branch of the Alberta Genealogy Society. With the 4,444 Canadian and Non-Resident signatures for the Senate posted recently by Muriel, and the more than 62,000 signatures sent from our previous petitions, we have now sent more than 70,000 signatures to Ottawa. Please keep the signatures coming. They are needed to show that we are serious about wanting access to these records. Happy Hunting. Gordon A. Watts gordon_watts@telus.net Co-chair Canada Census Committee Port Coquitlam, BC http://www.globalgenealogy.com/Census en francais http://www.globalgenealogy.com/Census/Index_f Permission to forward without notice is granted

    1. ARCHAMBAULT: Fichier Origine vs PRDH, Jette, Tanguay, recensements, etc.
    2. Richard Van Wasshnova
    3. Ever since Tanguay there have been 2 Marie ARCHAMBAULT, daughters of Jacques and Francoise TOUREAU, both born in France. The first, born 1636, with baptismal record as proof married Urbain Tessier at Quebec The recensements of 1666 agrees with 1636 birth.. The second Marie married Gilles LAUZON at Montreal. There is no birth or baptismal record for this 2nd Marie but recensements of 1666, 1667 and 1681 indicate birth date of 1644, as does Jette, (Prdh says about 1638, why?). Fichier Origine, see below, only shows one Marie. She has the birth of the first and the spouse of the second. I year ago I emailed this error to Marcel Fournier, (in English) and received no reply. The latest update corrects the marriage location for Jacques and Francoise TOUREAU, nothing else. Does anyone know how to get this straightened out?
