The scanned records are for St. Angelique, County Papineau 1911-1930. (These same records are also under place name Papineauville) Mayo, Quebec has only ever had one church, St. Malachie (where all my ancestors records would be). The records for the year range 1919-1940 are correct. Any suggestions how I can find the proper records for St. Malachie Parish, Mayo Quebec before 1919? Thanks for any assistance, Sharon . . 1. [QUEBEC] Marcelline Levesque's burial record??
    2. I hope someone can help me. I'm searching for the death/burial of my G-G-Grandmother, Marcelline Levesque, wife of Jean-Baptiste Fiola Marcelline was born 24 March 1823 at Rimouski. When Jean-Baptiste died on 1 March 1890 in Saint Ulric Matane, Marcelline was still alive according to his burial certificate. I've been searching for years and have been unable to locate Marcelline's burial. Thanks for any help. Paula ************************************** AOL now offers free email to everyone. 3. Jim supplied me with an update on this posting It should read: Edouard BELANGER Isidore BELANGER Claire BERNIER Feb 05 1839 St-Simon, Rimouski, Quebec (I had 25th) Marcelline BERUBE Amable BERUBE Esther NADEAU This is why I'm changing the date: Q99 Fam-7 at ACGS Library in Manchester, NH. Carbonneau's Tableau Genealogique des Mariages du Diocese de Rimouski. 1701-1902 This source shows marriage on 5 Feb 1839 at St Simon. Q54-13 at ACGS Library in Manchester NH. Rimouski District. Marriages of Rimouski, Matane and Matapedia Counties 1701-1992. Repertoire des mariages du district de Rimouski, 1701-1992, A-K, Men only. This source shows marriage on 5 Feb 1839 at St Simon. Broderbund's World Family Tree project, CD 19, Pedigree 1364 indicates this marriage took place on the 25th of February 1839. This is 2 VERY GOOD Sources indicating Feb 05 while one so-so indicating Feb 25. Nuff Said?.... Gary

    3. You're very welcome. Paula, glad I could help you! Since there still seems to be some issue with how to locate the Drouin databases using Ancestry.COM, I hope these instructions will help: 1. From the Ancestry.com home page, click on the SEARCH button at the top of the page. 2. In the list of databases on the right side of the screen, find and click on "Birth, Marriage and Death" 3. Scroll through the list box on the page to find the Drouin database you wish to search. They are in alphabetical order, so you'll find "Acadia French Catholic Church Records", then "Early U.S. French Catholic Church Records", "Ontario French Catholic Church Records", "Quebec Notarial Records", "Quebec Vital Records". Clicking on any of these will take you to the access point of the Drouin Collection pages where you can access any ot the Drouin databases. You will note that in order to find the "Miscellaneous French Records" databases you must go to this page as it is not found in the list box. 4. Scroll down to the bottom of the page where you will find "Please choose a location letter" followed by a list of letters. These correspond to the first letter of the place you want to search. From here, you will see a list of places with that initial letter from which you can make your choice. In the case of the Quebec Vital Records, you will also find "Saint", Sainte" and "Saints" which will take you to a list of churches which start with this word. I have found that the free databases of PRDH give me a place to look in the Drouin records, since I did not know the location for my Villeneuve ancestors. So far I have not only located them in Montreal (the only location I knew), but then traced them back farther to Mascouche. I'm so happy, I've been doing the genealogy dance of joy for 3 days now! Gary, you are correct that the Advanced Image Viewer works only with IE. I did notice, however, that "coming soon" is an Advanced Image Viewer" for Firefox, for which I am anxiously waiting. 3. Very good instructions Dorreen, But don't forget that the Notorial records are online as well and have to be accessed separately from BMDs. Although I can't find Notary Basset for 1710. You need to find them the same way you find the BMDs' - They didn't make it easy to find the Drouin. I wish there was one page of indexes just for it. 3. Also when you are on any of the Church list pages - go to the URL (top of that page) and change sainte to saint, or any letter of the alphabet. If there's a church starting with that letter it will come up. Took me a while to figure that out and I never could find the first page of said index of Churches. I'm finding it very hard to understand how to search - but then I'm older than I used to be. :-) Even when a particular church has an index, the page #'s do not necessarily jibe with the actual page numbers of the books so they don't appear to be very easy to manipulate. I found a couple of records and will continue to do sporadic research until the index is fully online. 3. Just snooping around the pages this evening and find many do not have 50 lines finished -- One unclaimed page in District 11, Montcalm, St. Jacques, Page 15 needs lines from 1 to 41 transcribed. [Often, when people are searching for family history, they do the lines that they need and DO NOT CLAIM - Thanks!] Bellechasse, St. Gervais, District 11, Page 2 was claimed 2006-11-18 -- needs aat least FIVE lines to make it 50 Jacques Cartier, Lachine, Dist. 26, Page 32, has only 22 lines. The other lines are UNREADABLE -- A NOTE can be left, and finish lines to 50 this way:- Delete all except black number at far left on Line 23 Click on SUBMIT until you reach 51, if page is not claimed. If page is claimed, only go to 50 and return to top of page. The same is true of Page 23 with only 14 lines in Dist 28 As page was claimed I could not finish it.
