Hi Pam, The PRDH seems to be down today so the best I can give you is what I have from the Red Drouin. When the PRDH is back up I'll be able to confirm and also add birthdates, possible other children who never married, etc. Until then, Jackie Hostage 1 Michel Mignier b: 26 Mar 1714 in Riviere-Ouelle, Kamouraska, Quebec src: Dictionnaire généalogique des familles du Québec .. +Marguerite Pelletier b: 16 Feb 1719 src: Dictionnaire généalogique des familles du Québec m: 09 Jan 1736 in St-Roch, Quebec src: Dictionnaire Nationale des Canadiens Francais (RED) .... 2 Jean-Francois Mignier b: Aft. 1736 ........ +Angelique Leclerc m: 14 Jan 1772 in Ste-Anne-de-la-Pocatiere, Quebec src: Dictionnaire Nationale des Canadiens Francais (RED) .... 2 Jean-Charles Mignier b: Aft. 1736 ........ +Marie-Madeleine Leclerc m: 15 Nov 1762 in Ste-Anne-de-la-Pocatiere, Quebec src: Dictionnaire Nationale des Canadiens Francais (RED) .... 2 Michel-Joseph Mignier b: Aft. 1736 ........ +Marie-Catherine Berube m: 09 Jan 1769 in Riviere-Ouelle, Kamarouska, Quebec src: Dictionnaire Nationale des Canadiens Francais (RED) .... 2 [1] Basile Mignier b: Aft. 1736 ........ +Madeleine Leclerc m: 14 Jan 1772 in Ste-Anne-de-Beaupre, Quebec src: Dictionnaire Nationale des Canadiens Francais (RED) d: Bef. 1779 .... *2nd Wife of [1] Basile Mignier: ........ +Catherine Dube m: 11 Oct 1779 in Riviere-Ouelle, Kamarouska, Quebec src: Dictionnaire Nationale des Canadiens Francais (RED) ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
Thanks to Jackie Hostage for the answer to my question concerning the Migner/Pelletier question. Many Thanks to her for her ever present help! Lone Star Pam
Bonjour, Does anyone have the address of St. Bartholome Church or cemetery at Riviere-du-Loup? I am looking for a burial record. Also, where would I write for a death record for 1979 for that region? Merci, Judith
Hello Listers, I need help with the following couple and their children please. In the PRDH: Michel Migner-Lagace-Meunier & Marguerite Pelletier had the following children: Michel -married Marie Joseph Hudon-Beaulieu 16 Jan 1758 La Pocatiere and Jean Marie- married Marie Madeleine Leclerc-Francoeur 15 Nov 1762 La Pocatiere The rest of the children have no spouse listed. Jean Charles -Joseph-Jean Francois-Basile-Marie Marguerite-Marie Josephe-Marie Rosalie and Barthelemy. I found another souce that indicates the son of Michel & Marguerite (Pelletier) Migner, Michel Joseph Migner married Marie Catherine Berube on 9 Jan 1769 at Riviere Ouelle. My question is, which of these children is Michel Joseph? Is it Michel who married Marie Josephe Hudon-Beaulieu or is it Joseph who has no spouse listed? I do not have access to the PRDH from 1765 to date. Anyone that would have access and could help me straighten this out, I would certainly appreciate more than I can say. TIA Lone Star Pam

To all -- The many pages of QUEBEC might be transcribed, but are they correct? Many pages were enumerated in French, but transcribers attempted to transcribe in English -- without accents which change a word. Also, as in Nova Scotia French areas, a woman may keep her maiden name after marriage -- the children would have the father's surname. On some pages the transcriber used the ditto marks and thus the children have the maiden surname of the mother. Please would anyone reading this go over the pages where you know the surnames -- handwriting is not the best -- but acquaintance with a name is a great help. Old telephone books, other items from your library -- anything that would assist you. Checking the 1901 census and linking the families is great but many do not know how to do this. All listings on the 1911 census, as for the 1901 go to Library and Archives Canada for the usage of our descendants in the future. http://automatedgenealogy.com/census11/ It is safe to sign in with your email address -- no spammers allowed and this has been taken care of. You also need a password. Frequently Asked Questions is in both English and French languages. As my French translation is of the "read only" quality, I am requesting someone to translate the above -- it is for only four lists but others may be added to get the pages checked. Let's add correctness to the 100% of the many Quebec pages -- should you do this -- click on the line re PROOFER Muriel M. Davidson [email protected] Co-Chair, Canada Census Committee

Oh yes fun .. ..first I am very happy that we can access to those precious documents, I was very fortunate at end of Feb I decided to take the Deluxe menbership half price.. yes it is fun doing genealogy, also it is a very good way to test your level of patience. I had been using it up and there is pages missing. I am questionning how will the index be done... I am researching in the L'Islet county area and and my grand mother was St Pierre Dessaint, and you can imagine the way it was written in the 1800...and earlier also.. desien pierre, desin. I really dont know how someone from other country looking for an ancester will find him unless we have the option of various spelling ( soundex) like for the census 1901 and 1911.. Now I would like to share this with you, my grand son is in grade 7 in Kingston and he has to do a project on his ancestors, what a great idea, my oldest one did one about 25 years ago and this wake me up about genealogy and been working off and on since...I hope this will make some parents aware how important it is genealogy and that will encourage them to start searching... now with a lot available on the net..oh my what a change with 25 years ago.... As for Drouin and LDS, I agree that there are possibly records that may be seen on Drouin that are not in the LDS copies. However, what I was trying to convey was that one should check both sources for a BMS just to make sure and not rely only on the Drouin Internet collection. HI Pam: I am sure I will be corrected if I am wrong. LOL I thought the Huron Mission Church was St-Ambroise-de-la-Jeune-Lorette. Lorie If so.....................it is online at Ancestry. Will be glad to help if you don't have a subscription.
Hi Bertrand; You say that there is no link between the LDS and Ancestry.com. That may be true on the surface, however, up until this month, Family History Centers had free access to Ancestry.com. . As for Drouin and LDS, I agree that there are possibly records that may be seen on Drouin that are not in the LDS copies. However, what I was trying to convey was that one should check both sources for a BMS just to make sure and not rely only on the Drouin Internet collection. And since as you mention there are only 10 million records, we can all have fun for a long time!! But a notarial act, cited above, indicates he was killed on the tenth of October 1690. So we can give the date in his individual file. > > Francis T. Watters wrote: >> P.S. Contrary to what many people seem to think, The Generations Network, which is the parent company to the Ancestry sites, has no link with the LDS church; hence you can't refer to "their LDS own microfilms". Furthermore, the agreement between the Catholic church and the LDS leading to the microfilming of the Church copy in the 1970s did not give the LDS the right to replicate and eventually sell copies to outside organizations. Finally, there are cases where the church copy is missing records which are in the Greffe copy. The Drouin collection often has for the older records both copies. The thing to do of course would be to match the two series record after record; there are over 10 million, so... have fun! Bertrand Desjardins
