The newer versions of FTM (2011, 2012) do not open the data CDs. I have maintained Family Treemaker 16 to enable me to open the CDs. If that's the case then you would have troubles. Yes, they are like very good scans of books. When those CDs were first introduced a 'file reader' CD was often included with the order. So, people who purchased the product could view them directly through FTM or with the reader. If you can get an older version of FTM, or a copy of the reader, it may be your answer.
