This is a bit offtopic, but it does need to be said. Before you think about upgrading to Windows 8 you would be well advised to do some research. Read what the "experts", computer media writers, have to say about it. Make up your own mind whether or not you REALLY want to upgrade. If you have an old FTM set laying around the house give it a shot. You might be surprised. It might work very well. One thing you might do is to look for "Windows 7 software compatibility" in Google. I read somewhere that if you install older software and do certain steps before you acually run th eprogram you can set the compatibility to support the software. Something about navigating to the directory on the drive where it is installed and right click on the program file. Do a tad of research. I bet it is possible to run old FTM version successfully. Several years ago I made the decision to change to Linux operating system, Kubuntu to be exact. I have had excellent luck getting really old versions of FTM to run in Linux. Just saying. Version 16 does run with Windows 7 but I haven't upgraded to Windows 8. Hopefully, it will still work with that one. -- “The only difference between death and taxes is that death doesn't get worse every time Congress meets.” — Will Rogers _ _... ..._ _ _._ ._ ..... ._.. ... .._
