I am seeking information on the Reuben Allen family, I'm not absolutely sure they were Quakers. Reuben Allen migrated to Wayne County, IN from North Carolina, probably Rowan or Montgomery County between 1818 and 1820. His youngest son was R W Allen (also Reuben but used initials throughout his life) was born in 1818 in NC. The elder Rueben is listed on the Wayne County, IN census in 1820. Reuben's oldest son William Henry Allen, born 1798, married Sarah Prather, daughter of Jonathan Prather in 1826 in Wayne Co, IN. Because of the migration from NC to IN I suspect Reuben Allen may have been a Quaker, there is also unproven information that Reuben is a descendant of Ralph Geobro Allen, a Massachusetts Quaker in the 1600's. Both William Henry Allen and R W Allen migrated to Fall Creek Twp, Madison County, IN. I have a great amount of information on R W Allen (my gr, gr, gr grandfather) and his children after he migrated to Madison County, I have found no Quaker involvement. I do not believe his wife Permelia Denney was raised as a Quaker. I am new to Quaker research but have been following the Quaker-Roots list for several months. Does anyone on the list have any information on the family or suggestions on research options? Bill Hinman
