Hi, was wondering if there is a way to get the Monocacy MM Montgomery Co Maryland records on inter library loan or on line. Looking for birth of Livine WILLIAMS abt 1758- son of Richard WILLIAMS and Prudence BEALS. Parents married 11 Oct 1745 Fairfax MM, Frederick, Virginia. How about the same info for the Virginia records? Thanks Joan Whitney jwhitney@pacifier.com
A. Monocacy Meeting in present-day Frederick County, MD was never a separate monthly meeting; it was at most a preparative meeting. I understand the PM was subordinate to four monthly meetings: (1) Nottingham until 1734, then (2) Hopewell 1734-1744, then (3) Fairfax after 1744, then any remaining members were attached to (4) Pipe Creek (the closest) when the preparative meeting was laid down in 1762 or 1776. https://www.quakermeetings.com/Plone/search_display?generalSearchWord=Monoca cy [Many e-mail servers insert a line break or return in long URLs like this one, and one must manually edit the link to remove the break before clicking through to the desired site.] B. I do not believe Monocacy was ever in Montgomery County. Frederick County was older, and Montgomery County was carved out of Frederick in 1776. Tom Hill Thomas C.
