Webster Parry (1848-1936), a Quaker genealogist of Richmond, Indiana, compiled histories of many Quaker families , Pidgeon among them. He says that Elizabeth was the daughter of David and Sarah (Gooch) Crew. Parry seldom indicated his sources, but I have found him generally reliable. Much of his research was based on monthly meeting records, but he apparently also had access to records in private hands that are now lost. The marriage certificate for Charles and Elizabeth at Deep River in 1789 gives Charles's parents as Isaac and Sarah, and Elizabeth's as David and Sarah. /A Genealogy of the Crew and Ellyson Families/ by L Frank Bedell, on page 10 of the Crew section says that David Crew, b 9th month 1735 married Sara Gooch was son of William Crew who married 7m-8-1729 to Hannah Sanders. Other children of William and Hannah are listed as Charity, Hannah, Molly, Constantine, William, Judith, and Jane. On page 6, William is listed as the 8th of ten children of John Crew who married first Catharine and married second Sara. Bedell, like Parry, cites no sources. While I cannot speak directly to this query, I suggest treating Bedell's work with skepticism. I've found numerous errors in this book. As with any secondary source make every attempt to find supporting evidence.
