    3. This is part of the Earlham School of Religion Digital Quaker Collection. Here is the URL: http://esr.earlham.edu/dqc/ It includes full texts of dozens of important Quaker works published before 1923.Since it was put on-line to facilitate the seminary's distance education programs in theology, its focus isn't primarily genealogical. But it does include works like "These Several Papers/7,000 Handmaids" and Besse's Sufferings that are very useful. And some of the Quaker journals include material of genealogical interest. For example, I did a keyword search for "Unthank," one of my wife's lines, and this account from the "Journal of Charles Osborn" came up: Fifth-day, Twelfth month 2d?In company with Abijah Jones and Isom Puckett, who are bound for home, I left Wm. Jackson's, and attended a little meeting in the Hollow, nearly desolated; and had some service among them. How lonesome did their condition appear to me. After meeting, we went to Jonathan Unthank' s, where we staid. Isom had some business to attend to, and left us, to return in the morning. A cold northwest wind blows from off the mountain. Isom returned, but his business is not finished, and we must wait for him. He got through against dinner, which was about three o'clock. We then started with more cumber than we had before, for he took two horses for an old debt, and now they must be taken along. I find these sorts of tidbits fascinating. Now..... does anyone know how to access "Image 11; page 8"? Are the actual pages of this document online? (I am interested in the Quaker signatories from Lancashire, for my book on the Haworth roots in Rossendale). You should be able to get to the page by clicking on the underlined 'Starts at' [which is a hyperlink] just before the words "Image 11; page 8". However, with a little experimentation, I've found this doesn't always respond. It does react if you right click to get the link on a new tab. This is what you get to for image 11: http://dqc.esr.earlham.edu:8080/xmlmm/docButtonB?XMLMMWhat=builtPage&XMLMMWhere=E19786214.P00000011-8&XMLMMBeanName=docBean&XMLMMNextPage=/printBuiltPageBrowse.jsp Chris ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to QUAKER-ROOTS-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
