Details on the Kentucky raid here > > > > > > > https://urscc.org/1847_Kentucky_Raid.html Also, if anyone runs across anyone named Dixon in the course of your Cass County research, I'd appreciate a heads-up. My great-great grandfather, Willis L Dixon (1821-1893), and his wife, Marion Olds Dixon (1832-1900), lived near Volinia. They were not Quakers, as far as I know, though they were supposedly hardcore abolitionists. The best piece of evidence I have for that is the fact that they named one of their sons (my great grandfather) Charles Sumner Dixon, after the rabidly abolitionist U.S. senator from Massachusetts, Charles Sumner.
