    3. Tercentenary History Of Maryland Vol IV devotes four pages to the Gough Family. Pages 221 & 222, and 555 & 556 gives the family tree of my Grandfather, Bernard Browne Gough and My Aunt, Mary Genevieve Gough Hodge. It states the following tree: Bernard B & Ida Magruder Gough, Thomas Washington & Mary Maguire Gough, Joseph Leo & Cassandra Cecil Gough, Charles & Ann Langley Gough, George Gough (will probated 1807 Leonardtown Md., Stephen & Ann Gough (1797), James & Priscilla Gough (1764), James & Elizabeth Gough (1725), Stephen & Clare Gough (1700), William & Hester Gough (1679), Calvert County, Md. Upon receiving several of the above wills from St Mary's County, I realized that Stephen Gough 1797 did not leave anything to a George Gough. All of his children were mentioned in the will. Therefore, I believe that the line is incorrect. George is not the son of Stephen. Although Charles is the son of George and left land etc to Joseph the dates do not agree. Joseph is shown dying in 1820.His son, Thomas Washington Gough was born 1843. I have census reports showing Cassandra living with Thomas and dying in 1888 in Baltimore. The Tercentenary states Joseph Leo was in the War of 1812 and died at sea, and is buried at Hampton Roads Virginia, date of death unknown. I am unable to verify but do believe that Joseph Leo is the father of Thomas Washington Gough but am unable to find whom Joseph Leo's father is??? Can anyone help me correct the line???
