    3. I live in Maryland, although all my Quaker ancestors are from New England. I used to work at a college and had access to a couple of old books they had on early Quakers. What you describe is much what I remember of those books. I don't think there is a source for Maryland that will give you the detail you are looking for. I don't have access to the books anymore, either. I know some of the early records were lost. I remember seeing a reference in one book to a clerk of one of the Meetings who moved to Virginia and took the Meeting records with him. If I remember correctly, he refused to return them until he was paid some money he was owed. I never saw any evidence that he ever returned the records. That's taking a grudge to the extreme!
