    3. Hi, folks. Not long ago, I learned -- via Quaker Roots or another Rootsweb list; I forget -- that a log home built ca. 1700 by my wife's Quaker ancestor, Robert Southery, had survived the centuries and still stood in southern Delaware County. Since we live nearby, I contacted the owner, went to see it and even wrote a magazine article about it. That story was just published in the 2005 Buying Guide of Log Homes Illustrated and you can see it here: "Stepping Back in Time" FYI, Robert Southery (whose birth, death and marriage dates are unknown) had two daughters, Margery (d. 1742) and Mary (d. 1745), who married, respectively, John Hannum (d. 1730) and John Palmer (d. 1742). Both the Hannum and Palmer families have lots of descendants around Philadelphia and, probably, on this list. (My wife is descended twice from the Hannum line and once from the Palmer line.) Mark E.
