Richards is very much a Quaker name. My family came over from Oxfordshire, England in 1682 in two of the ships, Amity and Society, of Penn's fleet. Others by the name of Richards came early to America from Wales and also settled in Chester Co., Pa. Is this a Quaker name? The reason I ask is that recently I started doing genealogy and found out that my British roots were Quaker and that my g g grandma was from Demerara. Her parents were from Barbados and their names were William Carbery and Sarah Richards. Since Mary married a guy from a Quaker family, I wondered if she were too.-- Erika -----Original Message----- From: Barclay Richards [mailto:Richardsmere@msn.com] Sent: Monday, November 22, 2004 1:34 PM To: QUAKER-ROOTS-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [Q-R] Chalfant&Chads The parents of Olive Bennett are John Bennett and Ann Brinton 1660-1719.
