    1. Re: [Q-R] Comer family
    2. I'm descended from Tamer Comer (1743-1835), daughter of Robert and Rebecca (Houghton) Comer, who married David Kenworthy (1745-1835), probably about 1767. Both the Comers and the Kenworthys originated in Pennsylvania, but were in Randolph County, N.C., when David and Tamer's first child, Jesse Kenworthy (1768-1858) was born there. (Jesse is my ancestor.) My guess is that your William Comer is probably a descendant of one of Tamer's brothers: Joseph (1735/6-1779) who married Elizabeth Hussey and died at Holly Springs, Wake Co., N.C.; John (1738-1815), who married Elizabeth Cox and died in Randolph County, N.C.; Robert (b. 1740/1), who married Mary Unknown; Thomas David (b. 1745); Amos (1750-1823), who married Amy Allen and died in Randolph County, N.C.; or Jesse (1757-1820), who married Ann Chamnes and died in Eagles Mills, Vinton Co., Ohio.
