Have you discovered the Mendenhall Cemetery NW of Peoria IL, which contains the graves of Mendenhalls, Carrs, Cox es, Claytons, Thornburghs(?), Taylors, etc as well as non-Quaker NC families from Surry Co such as the Gordons? Many spent several years in KY and IND before arriving in Radnor Township, NW Peoria Co. and establishing communities there. My group of Carrs got there in 1838, after many Mendenhalls etc. I have no records of the exact route or timing but would like to know more. The closest Quaker meetings I can find to them were the Hicksites in Benjaminville in Bloomington IL but that was short lived. Many became Presbyterian and much later a Thornburgh was a famous Methodist minister in the city. The town of Dunlap is also nearby. Elizabeth Carr McKay
