    3. I know of no reason to question that Frances (Latham) Dungan Clarke Vaughn was the daughter of Lewis Latham. Lewis's 1653 will, in which he describes himself as "Gentleman, of Elveston, Bedfordshire," names daughter Frances Clarke. The Latham lineage in Alfred R. Justice's book on the Clarke and Dungan families looks plausible, but it is short on dates. Thus I consider it worth exploring, but not certain.
