I have been a proud member of the National Society of Descendants of Early Quakers for a long time. My Quaker ancestors have been an important part of my heritage. NSDEQ did have a website but it is down at the present time. The NSDEQ was founded in 1980. They began publishing their volume “Plain Language” about 1984. “Plain Language” is indexed and issued annually plus a membership roster. There are insignias and charms available for purchase. It lists reference libraries throughout the country for Quaker research as well as online resources. One of the online references is: http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~quakers/ I look forward to each new issue to see other Quaker cousins that have been added to membership. I would like to attend their annual meeting held in Washington, DC each year but haven’t made it yet. This year’s topic is: ”How the Quakers Invented America” given by Mr. David Yount. The meeting will be held April 17, 2009.Following the address will be installation of officers for the 2009-2011 term. Their national board is made up of many renowned and respected genealogists.
