    3. My primary direct line is the HOBSON famiy which is my father's mother's line. She is the first direct line HOBSON not born a Quaker. The line goes all the way back to Francis HOBSON I (8X G-gfather) from County Armagh, Ireland 1620 - 1675. A martyr for the Quaker cause he died in the Armagh Goal. My second primary direct line is the HEALD family. Interesting story there. John Watt HOBSON married Mary Ann Heald Dec 1857, she died Nov 1871. Three years later he married Lucina Heald, Mary Ann's sister. My Direct HEALD line goes all the way back to Samuel and Mary (Bancroft) HEALD (7X G-grandparents) who came to the New World from Mobberley, Cheshire, England in 1703. - Samuel came to America bearing a certificate from, "Mobberly Monthly Meeting", to Friends in Philadelphia, dated 10,3,1702. - BIOGRAPHY: Samuel Heald his wife and 5 children came to America fromCheshire, England in 1703. They settled in Chester Co. Pa. On theBrandywine River, where they made their home until Samuel's death in1736. - BIOGRAPHY: Their arrival in America is recorded in church records by acertificate which reads - "Samuel Heald and his wife Mary, both born ofbelieving parents from the "Monthly Meeting at Morely County, CheshireEngland, dated 10th mo.3rd da. 1702 Joan Heald, a signer; was received5th mo. 30th day 1703;" taken from (Quaker arrives at Philadelphia1682-1715) by Albert Cook Meyers. - BIOGRAPHY: Both Samuel and Mary (Bancroft) Heald were active members ofthe "Old Kennett Monthly Meeting" and both are buried in the "OldFriends" burial ground at that church in Pa.) Two merchants from London played a promint part in the settling of America. - Francis Plumstead, a London businessman, received 2,500 acres from William Penn, though he never came here. Plumstead township and Plumsteadville were named after him. - Clement Plumstead was one of 12 Proprietors of New Jersey.
